5 million roos are killed in Australia every year. That's legally killed and counted. Another 1 million are shot by joy shooters. A friend of mine has a pet kangaroo, and I really like that kangaroo, it tries to slap me in the face. I think it is a national disgrace that Australia kills more than 6 million roos a year. Joeys are dependant on there mother for 3 years. If mother gets shot, joey hops off and dies of starvation.

Your new rifle is not a rim fire .22 and suspect it is a center fire .222 or .223. For hunting Red Kangaroos I suggest you buy a bolt action 7 mm magnum. The factory load of a 7 mm magnum packs more punch than a factory load bolt action 30-06.

You are from the land of god and guns. Thank you for your advice. Bolt action is the only legal gun I have. I have others but don't tell the government.
Thanks from Twisted Sister

Sorry imaginethat. I just read the the whole thread and noticed your rifle was a .308. I was a member of a .308 club many years ago. Your .308 is what big red killers use.

I love bolt action rifles because they look and feel cool. When I was a teenager working on a hog farm making my own money bought a Marlin 30-30 lever action with the gold trigger. Back then I had good eyesight and saw a squirrel walking on the branch of a tall tree. I had open sights and blew the squirrel in half from a range of 100 yards that I paced off. That was the last time I shot at a furry critter minding its own business but it was a Red Squirrel. Red Squirrels are bad because they kill Grey Squirrels which are good.
