Gun sales plummet

Now that their number one salesman is leaving, the gun industry faces hard times.
Not only has there been a major slowdown in sales, think of all the hardware that will be hitting the second hand market, when people try to unload the stuff they stocked up on during the last 8 years to pay for their soon to be sky rocketing medical costs.....

That is good news. Hopefully rimfire ammo will be plentiful and cheap as it once was.

Looking forward to Trump's national carry law and Trump's Supreme Court striking down unconstitutional 2nd Amendment restrictions on the coasts.
Thanks from caconservative, Sabcat and coke

You understand that, at present, there is only ONE vacancy on the SC, right?

Apparently he doesn't understand that those restrictions were upheld in a Scalia court.

The ammosexuals are going to be sorely frustrated when even more restrictions in states, not less are enacted.

You understand that restrictions can only go so far. There are logical restrictions and then there are unlawful restrictions.

Scalia spelled that out for you real clear.

Read it and weep, why your national concealed carry, or a lot of other concealed carry rights will never see the light of day along with any current or future restrictions that will limit your gun fetishes will be repealed

But even though the 5-4 majority ruling makes an intellectual end run around the language of the Second Amendment to get to their ruling, they very clearly state that society (government, convened to collectively protect us from what we can’t protect ourselves from as individuals) has the right to, and legitimate interest in controlling gun ownership, in several specific ways.

On pp. 54 and 55, the majority opinion, written by conservative bastion Justice Antonin Scalia, states: “Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited…”. It is “…not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.”

“Nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.”

“We also recognize another important limitation on the right to keep and carry arms. Miller (an earlier case) said, as we have explained, that the sorts of weapons protected were those “in common use at the time”. We think that limitation is fairly supported by the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of ‘dangerous and unusual weapons.’ ”

The court even recognizes a long-standing judicial precedent “…to consider… prohibitions on carrying concealed weapons.”

After US election, Russia feared influencing French vote, corroding Western values

Marine Le Pen, the far-right French leader hopeful of a strong showing in next year's presidential election, has defended borrowing from a Russian bank to fund her party – and promised closer ties between the Elysee Palace and the Kremlin if she wins next May.

There are growing fears of Russian interference in the vote, after Donald Trump's relationship with the Kremlin and Russia's alleged role in hacking the Democratic party's email server were hot topics in the US election.

Foreign policy experts told Fairfax that Russia would benefit from "chaos" in Europe and a weakened NATO and EU, and it was not clear how far it would go to exploit the opportunities offered by next year's presidential elections in France.

...she said her presidency would feature a new friendship with Vladimir Putin – and hinted at an end to economic sanctions initiated after Russia took Crimea from Ukraine.

"There is no reason to be scared," she said. "If we want a powerful Europe we had better negotiate with Russia and cooperate with them, have commercial agreements with them."

That's not all folks.

Russian Allies Are Expected to Win Presidential Elections in Moldova and Bulgaria

Russia’s geopolitical influence is set to be further strengthened, with two Eastern European countries expected to elect as their leaders candidates with links to Moscow and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

Voters in the former Soviet bloc nations of Bulgaria and Moldova went to the polls Sunday in their respective runoff presidential elections. The New York Times reports that in both instances, an openly pro-Russia candidate would all but certainly assume the presidency.

Such an outcome could plunge the European Union in further crisis, according to Reuters, as Moldova, currently yet to become an E.U. member, could possibly end its ongoing integration efforts with the regional bloc. The Times reports that pro-Russian socialist candidate Igor Dodon has plans for a referendum on whether the country should withdraw from a 2014 political-and-trade agreement with the E.U., and instead join a Russia-led Eurasian Customs Union.

...In Bulgaria, the apparent President-elect, Rumen Radev, is a former air-force commander without political experience. Reuters reports that his pro-Moscow, anti-immigrant campaign platform has found resonance in a country coming to grips with being the poorest member state of the E.U. He has campaigned on a promise to not let Bulgaria, which borders Turkey, become “Europe’s migrant ghetto,” according to the Times.

Radev also praised U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s apparent willingness to soften strained U.S.-Russia relations, according to the Times, saying that it “brings big hope for finding a peaceful resolution to the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine and avoiding further confrontation and escalation.“

Here's how relations are improved with Putin. You just bend over a little farther remembering it will only hurt for a little while....
