In 1982 San Francisco a proposal by then Mayor Dianne Feinstein that banned most citizens from owning a handgun was passed into law. Hardly anyone turned in their guns. Feinstein, being the hypocrite that she is, then applied for and received a CCL. Since that time, all the gun stores in San Francisco were methodically driven out of business by increasingly tougher Draconian laws, including the last one that banned the sales of ammunition that drove the last gun store out of business. It is supposed to be a gun free city, yet people are killed all the time with guns, including the recently famous case of an illegal alien shooting to death Kate Steinle. How's those gun laws working, eh?

People now travel out of the city to buy guns and ammo, and just about anyone with a gun is hoarding ammunition.

From Skews 13....

And only 3% of the population owns 90% of those 300 million guns.

I am from Memphis, Tennessee and all the people I know are firearms owners. My father has at least two handguns and a .22 rifle. Our good friends across the street own several guns, both handguns and long guns. My best friend here has a gun locker with several weapons. My uncle's son and grandsons from Iowa and Minnesota have various guns for hunting, my cousin has numerous rifles and shotguns and makes his own bullets. His nephew (and probably more than one) hunt geese, duck and deer. Great. If the economy and civilization collapses, he will be able to feed himself off the land for a bit.

Lots of people own guns. I personally do not feel the need to have one, not out of anything moral or anything, just don't care about having one. I don't hunt, and never felt my life was in danger or felt in danger enough to own a gun, even in my high crime city. Even if I lived here, probably wouldn't have a gun.

But saying only 3 percent own 90 percent of guns is probably incorrect, just go to the South or Midwest and see.

Broad gun bans result in the deaths of millions of children.

Gun free school zones are localized gun bans that result in the deaths of a couple dozen kids.

The less there is of gun bans the better it is for the lives of children.
Just to keep the record straight, Australia has had five mass shootings since 1996, 18 people killed.

It would start with the prohibition of the manufacture and sale of any assault style carbine rifle, and high capacity magazines for rifles or pistols.

Then you pass a law requiring anyone that currently owns any assault style carbine rifles and high capacity magazines for rifles and pistols to be registered. You give everyone 1 year to do it. After that i year grace period, it is now a felony up to 10 years in prison if you get caught with one unregistered.

This allows you pass them on to family after your death, provided those family members can legally register them in their name.

Then the resale of any weapon must be done through a back ground check at the local sheriffs department, where the sale is conducted, or through a licensed dealer that records the sale.

This would take a time frame of about 10 years, before this gun regulation would either have these weapons confiscated and destroyed, hundreds of thousands of people either now in prison, or no longer able to own any gun, and what is left of these rifles and magazines now under wraps by private owners that cannot transfer them to anyone else without facing stiff mandatory sentencing.

It's just that simple.

Of course the whining and crying from the short dicks, with no brains would be vomit worthy for a while. It is much more easy to stomach than the crying of mothers and fathers at their childrens funerals.
Why will this be more successful than the War on Drugs?

I buy the teachers whatever they decide to spend the money they take from me on. This is just another weak argument. You want to know why teachers always get screwed? You goofballs place to much faith in your union that continues to screw you. Now the schools are extremely top heavy w/ administrators and other salaries that dwarf those of actual teachers eating eating up budgets. Maybe restructure how your budgets are spent and start putting out a more quality product but this is how every single industry works once government gets involved.
