But hey, they are not getting shot. Sure someone melted their face off. But it was not an angrey looking assault rifle.
Women in the UK should carry a box of Arm and Hammer baking soda when they go out in public. Put baking soda on you when under an acid attack. Baking soda is an alkaline which neutralizes acid and then poke him in the eye with your umbrella.

Why do we have laws against robbing banks? There are still criminals who find ways to do it and rob banks anyway. Should we pay attention to all those people who cry out, 'but they're coming for our safety deposit boxes!' and get rid of those laws?

We have laws that punish people very harshly for sexually molesting children. There are still people who break those laws and abuse and molest children. Should we listen to the people who are moaning, 'but they're taking away my parental rights!' and forget about those laws?

It's just IGNORANT and TUNNEL-VISIONED UNINFORMED to think that people want to disarm the entire nation of all guns (well, some might - but the vast overwhelming majority do not. I do not.). But I would applaud ignoring the hysterical whimpering of the right wing's, 'they're coming to take all my guns' and confiscating and giving harsh penalties to any private citizen with assault weapons. The only reason these weapons exist is to assault. Assault is illegal. As they have no other purpose, they should not be in the hands of private citizens. Just as private citizens can't have dynamite, anthrax, plutonium, etc. etc. etc. It is AGAINST THE GOOD INTERESTS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

And people who don't like it can suck my left tit and get over it.
I can't believe you actually got paid to grade peoples papers much less were allowed any influence whatsoever on their education. I could go and get my jr high kid to dismantle this silly attempt at an argument.

Lets take them one at a time.

If drunk driving was the cause of death in your premise wouldn't the logical solution in your "lets ban all the things" utopia be to ban alcohol?

Now if you were just talking about death my automobile then banning of cars would be logical.

Didn't we try passing a constitutional amendment banning booze?

Fail.

No thanks on the left tit. Elderly cosmopolitan gays are not my thing.

That would be great if you want to add third degree thermal burns to your acid burns. When a strong acid is neutralized by an alkaline like baking soda, the reaction is very exothermic, ie gives off lots of heat. It would burn you badly.

I know for a fact that at the gas stations where I worked at there was always a box of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda in the garage where repair work was done. Sulpheric Acid or Battery Acid burns the skin. Mixing the two makes a lot of bubbles but that is only Hydrogen.

Thatís one of the surprises about the large increase in acid attacks in the UK, the victims are overwhelming male.

As a trained first aider, the best method is to dilute the acid with lots of running water, but taking care not to spread the acid to uneffected areas, and get the victim professional medical help as quickly as possible.

It's great to use for cleaning acid off the batteries or other surfaces you want to protect. But protect your eyes, those hydrogen bubbles can sometimes cause a fine mist of acid to float towards you.

Skin, not so much.

I assumed facts not in evidence. I mistakenly thought that the acid attacks were directed at women in the UK because that is what I saw in the news about Arab countries. The perfect pistol for a woman to carry in the UK is a snub nose double action .38 revolver with no safety. Point the gun and pull the trigger and exit one acid attacker.
