Why does any firearm (within reason, I'm not talking an M-240) need to be banned?

The process for acquiring one needs to be substantially tightened, and yes, that means some people for various valid reasons may be prevented from owning any firearm.

Why the hell can't all sides agree to this? Why the all or nothing, black or white approach to the situation?
Thanks from Hollywood

So those on the Left that want the AR15 banned, are not capable of even articulating what it is that they want.

This isn't a left vs right issue.

I answered you. What? You didn't like the answer?
Thanks from Hollywood

NOPE--anyone who's done some research knows the AR stands for ArmaLite rifle---after the company that developed it.

Who says Clara can't stay on topic?? HUH?? WHO?

If that be the case, you might want to consider banning yourself.
Thanks from Sabcat

That was an answer? Did anyone say it was a Left vs. Right issue? No, it's a commonsense argument. The 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed. It doesn't say, the 2nd Amendment shall be a "little infringed". It also doesn't say that those who shouldn't own guns, not be stopped from acquiring guns. If society at large retains a natural right of self defense, only those who should not be allowed to own guns should be the focus of the issue. And those reasons should be narrow in focus.

Now your agreeing with our position. It's not the weapon, it is the "person" in possession of the weapon. As I've said, years ago the NRA proposed commonsense background checks that went far beyond today's background checks. They were unheeded. But, who is the first to be attacked? It wasn't the failure of Congress, no, it was the spin-factory that immediately attacked the NRA.

Its not that I do not appreciate your answer or position, its that I asked those that want to ban the AR15 to state the specifics of what they want. You do not want that, so your answer does not apply to the question I asked.
