I really want to understand specifically what the Left is proposing.
Simple, any weapon designed to kill/wound more than a dozen people in less than 5 minutes from a distance of more than 100 feet.

Specifically how do you define these weapons to know what you are banning? this should not be some "judgement" call. Get specific.

Make you a deal, as soon as you can tell me the specifics as to temperature, pressure inside the primary cooling loop of a Skipjack class Fast Attack nuclear submarine then Iíll give you the specifics you are looking for.

The point being Iím not a firearms expert. I canít tell you the rate of fire, muzzle velocity or ammo weight for these kinds of weapons any more than you can tell me the information Iíve asked for.

I am telling you that the weapon Cruz used has no practice civilian application. There is no need for a civilian to have that kind of weapon.
Thanks from Camelot

The process for acquiring one needs to be substantially tightened, and yes, that means some people for various valid reasons may be prevented from owning any firearm.

Why the hell can't all sides agree to this? Why the all or nothing, black or white approach to the situation?
I have not seen a logical proposal for that.

IMO the term "mental illness" is an arbitrary term and no way am i prepared to place the constitutional rights of the public on some soft science that can change w/ the weather. I see a lot of problems w/ this approach.

Is it the word "AR-15"?

Specifically name what you want to ban in very clear and precise and technical terms.

Emotionalism? Because you say so?

Asserting ďThe People have a RightĒ is a textbook example of ďEmotionalismĒ
There is no argument being made, no attempt at building a case. Itís a sound bite attempting to silence any debate on the topic.

Your post was not off topic. I was joking--apparently not very well. Sorry.

Recently several DTT posters have implied that I obfuscate.

And Iíve seen a lot of problems with your approach. 17 reasons in Florida.

Not total confiscation.
Hunting rifles are fine, shotguns are fine, target guns are fine.

Guns designed to kill people, should be restricted to the military and police.

And it's going to happen, maybe another couple of thousand children have to die, but it's going to happen.
Because the arc of history bends toward progress.
