Most of the time private is better

Remember Medicare denies healthcare TWICE as often than Private insurance.

I don't have to by supplemental plans for my private insurance.

And you can't beat their ability to leave behind a long lasting legacy. It's just that often it takes decades and billions of dollars to clean the legacies up.

Oh, and notice how Sabcat is against socialism again.
Thanks from Camelot

@imaginethat

Private companies have a lot of problem with accountability as well. It is difficult to see how to fully remedy the situation, as ultimately, groups are necessarily going to have to be afforded certain powers in order to perform in their sphere of influence or otherwise hold others responsible for their failures.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

We have seen in school shootings teachers taking bullets and laying down their lives to protect students. I have no doubt they would be more effective packing heat.

who in here does not wish the coach that put himself between the Florida Shooter and the students had been armed. Instead of the 4 useless deputies.
Thanks from webguy4

Yes. There was a cop on the Joe Rogan show (I can't recall his name), well worth watch, that addresses some of this. Now, I don't agree with everything he claimed, though one part I would like to focus in on I definitely agree--Cops who were ex-military were far superior/qualified for the job. He talks about how the 'training' to become a police officer is so low, that even after passing a person is not necessarily nearly qualified for the magnitude of the position--while those who served in the military are easily qualified, particularly if they did armed combat of some sort. Those with little skill and/or experience tend to either (A) crumble under the weight of a confrontational situation (B ) become far too 'jumpy' as they know they have little ability to control the situation if they cannot get the other to yield of their own will quickly. Conversely, those who are skilled and/or highly experienced tend to remain calm, cool, and collected as they know they are able to handle the situation--which helps disarm it and leads to fewer incidents. I saw this dynamic play out all the time as a guard, just on a comparatively smaller scale to the police (because the stakes are lower).
Mike wood i believe was his name. Baltimore PD if i recall correctly. He was on the show twice. Great guest. Very informative. I shared it w/ a few members here but dont think i started a thread on it.

Huh. Since that "meme" has been echoing in society for some time now and precedes lord trumps ascension do you think that maybe...just maybe there is something to it and that trump is a reflection of the wants and needs of the people in that respect and not that we are reflecting trump?

Címon IT, how can you beat a private contractor like Edward Snowden ? Or a private contractor like Blackwater that slaughtered innocent Iraqi civilians and had to change their companieís name ? Or a private contractor like Halliburton who overbilled the U.S government to the tune of billions in Iraq and skimped on safety devices on the Deep Water Horizon oil drilling platform that ended up polluting the whole Gulf of Mexico and destroying their whole shrimping industry ? Ayn Rand would be proud of comrade Sabcat.
Thanks from imaginethat and Hollywood
