Maybe. But then, we go and make it easy for them by creating gun-free zones in large public venues.

Please, what was the intention in having gun-free zones?

In today's world, a gun-free zone is as flawed a concept as a mosquito-free zone in the Amazon.

See Chicago Public School system. They have the answer.

And as long as the 2nd is interpreted the way it is now, that will not change in the US.

I believe the one thing that all mass shootings have in common is guns.
In countries where they have restricted guns, there are a lot fewer gun deaths, and a lot fewer mass shootings.

Thankfully, the majority of gun deaths are either the gun owner or the gun owner's family.
But sometimes the gun owner kills people who are innocent. By restricting firearm ownership, we can reduce the death toll significantly.

I agree we could ban and begin confiscation of guns tomorrow and it would reduce gun violence. We could do a lot of things to stop crime in general.
Nazi Germany and Japan had virtually no crime of any kind at one time. We already have examples to demonstrate that you are correct.

I have a disagreement with the title of this thread. Saying lets arm teachers is not a good idea at all. Saying lets allow teachers to be armed is a much better argument. I do not think that allowing willing teachers to walk around being armed is a great idea. I do think that having a gun safe that can be accessed or allowing teachers who are willing to have firearms in their vehicles is very plausible.

The reality is just look at how urban schools deal with this. Chicago public school system does not have this problem. That is Chiraq.

@guy

I have not looked into the Chicago school system (yet), though I would imagine there are police and such present?
