if drugs like heroin (dangerous like booze) and cocaine (not very dangerous) were legalized the products could be monitored, their purity published and cutting the products w/ dangerous substances would almost be eliminated. the cartels would be either taken out of the picture or their roles would be minimized along w/ that of the state. prices would come down, as would crime.

this would be a positive for all members of society except those who profit from them only being available on the black market.mostly criminals and the state.
