It is not diet being rich, but many other factors from the diet. I was told to avoid beef and started eating turkey. Gout got worse. Turns out turkey was worse than beef. Acids from fruits is often what is the trigger for gout victims. For me, it is tomato.

I was sick. I either had really bad food poisoning of some sort of flu. I used to keep pot in the house for situations like this. It is great when you can't hold down food kinda sick and being that I am already sick in bed being "stoned" doesn't bother me. My wife picked it up at the store when she picked me up some gingerale and crackers. This for me was better than the pot as I avoided the "stoned" part but still got the benefits. It was pricy though.

Diet details

The general principles of a gout diet are essentially the same as recommendations for a balanced, healthy diet:

Weight loss. Being overweight increases the risk of developing gout, and losing weight lowers the risk of gout. Research suggests that reducing the number of calories and losing weight even without a purine-restricted diet lowers uric acid levels and reduces the number of gout attacks. Losing weight also lessens the overall stress on joints.

Complex carbs. Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains, which provide complex carbohydrates. Avoid foods such as white bread, cakes, candy, sugar-sweetened beverages and products with high-fructose corn syrup.

Water. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking water. An increase in water consumption has been linked to fewer gout attacks. Aim for eight to 16 glasses of fluids a day with at least half of that as water. A glass is 8 ounces (237 milliliters). Talk to your doctor about appropriate fluid intake goals for you.
Fats. Cut back on saturated fats from red meats, fatty poultry and high-fat dairy products.

Proteins. Limit daily proteins from lean meat, fish and poultry to 4 to 6 ounces (113 to 170 grams). Add protein to your diet with low-fat or fat-free dairy products, such as low-fat yogurt or skim milk, which are associated with reduced uric acid levels.

Recommendations for specific foods or supplements include the following:

High-purine vegetables. Studies have shown that vegetables high in purines do not increase the risk of gout or recurring gout attacks. A healthy diet based on lots of fruits and vegetables can include high-purine vegetables, such as asparagus, spinach, peas, cauliflower or mushrooms. You can also eat beans or lentils, which are moderately high in purines but are also a good source of protein.

Organ and glandular meats. Avoid meats such as liver, kidney and sweetbreads, which have high purine levels and contribute to high blood levels of uric acid.

Selected seafood. Avoid the following types of seafood, which are higher in purines than others: anchovies, herring, sardines, mussels, scallops, trout, haddock, mackerel and tuna.

Alcohol. The metabolism of alcohol in your body is thought to increase uric acid production, and alcohol contributes to dehydration. Beer is associated with an increased risk of gout and recurring attacks, as are distilled liquors to some extent. The effect of wine is not as well-understood. If you drink alcohol, talk to your doctor about what is appropriate for you.

Vitamin C. Vitamin C may help lower uric acid levels. Talk to your doctor about whether a 500-milligram vitamin C supplement fits into your diet and medication plan.

Coffee. Some research suggests that moderate coffee consumption may be associated with a reduced risk of gout, particularly with regular caffeinated coffee. Drinking coffee may not be appropriate for other medical conditions. Talk to your doctor about how much coffee is right for you.

Cherries. There is some evidence that eating cherries is associated with a reduced risk of gout attacks.

I recommend you buy the real thing that grows from the earth. Anything manmade is sure to cause problems.

You once said that you go to Colorado every year and there the real thing is legal, buy it there and bring it back to Arizona. If you don't want to smoke it, grind some up and add to Betty Crocker Brownie Mix. I warn you that making pot brownies has over a six hour effect when smoking it has no more than a four hour effect. Don't waste your time making tea out of it because water has no fat and THC is fat soluble and there is fat in brownie mix. Never drive a car with THC in your system because it does impair driving.

THC is not the active ingredient in CBD oil and in theory one would have to be a heavy user of the product to even fail a drug test. From my understanding there is little to no THC in the substance and is almost useless as a "recreational drug"

I would have to defer to IT as the pot is more his area of expertise I just like holiestic remedies and hate our drug laws.

Yes, it is true, it is safe, and parents are using it for children that have terrible seizures, with nothing less than miraculous results.

I swear the best way to get rid of Gout Pain is to take your .44 magnum and blow the big toe right off...

I got gout in my big toe, my ankle and my thumb.....I take alipurinal every day and it has not plagued my for the last couple years....<praying>

My doctor told me that gout is a very nasty form of arthritis..??....But you are right nothing hurts like gout....You can't even sit still the column of air above your foot hurts it....and yes it swells...I got it in my ankle and couldn't wear my motor cycle boots for a month..

I had a battle with a podiatrist at the VA over it....I had it in my ankle....this goofy woman is playing with my foot and tells me I had a broken bone in my foot....I told her "no I do not, it is gout"....She goes all Clara on me and starts telling me I don't know shit, I should watch my language (I said "damned') and get a hearing aid...That's when I told her "to go eff herself and learn to talk clearly"....The woman did talk like she had a mouth full of mush and she had elevator muzak playing in the backround, in her office....She tells me to go up to the VA hospital in Wilkes Barre and get it x-rayed..She would call ahead and tell them I am coming...I go...She never calls ahead...I sit in waiting room for 8 hrs....They take me in...x-ray my foot...I wait another two hours as they develop the x-ray and play a couple hands of skat.... Doctor calls me in his office and says "You got Gout"......I tell him that I take Flourosimide for swelling in my legs and a rare side-effect is gout....He says "No"....I says "Look it up"...he does and says "you right"....that is when they put me on the alipurinal....And it works...so far...

The uric acid turns to crystals that scour the joint, left untreated it leads to an arthritic like destruction of the joint...
