About accident claim

I reached Canada 3 weeks back as I got a job here. Last week I met with a car accident. The doctor told me that the fracture of the right hand is something serious and it will take at least 6 months to recover from it. I can't join my new company in this condition. Now I am thinking of filing a complaint to get compensation for this. I read some details regarding this here https://campisilaw.ca/car-accident-lawyers/. I would like to know about my rights in this situation. I am not familiar with the procedures here. It would be great if somebody can help me with some advice.

Are you sure the doctor said six months? Six weeks is the time it takes a bone to knit back together if it is set and put in a cast and the cast is removed after six weeks. I don't know anything about Canada but doubt if you would get workmans comp in the United States because you were not injured on the job. If the other driver was at fault then you have to sue their car insurance company for lost time, legal expenses, pain and suffering, etc.

Call a lawyer.

Any other advice you get via the internet would be useless.
