Medicare for all and why it will not work

Crazy sanders came out to talk about his socialized healthcare bill. They take a look at it.

The best chance of surviving a terminal illness is the USA ?????
If it's terminal, one doesn't survive it, that's why it's called terminal.

Life is terminal.

If you do not comprehend the survival rates then you need to educate yourself as to what that means, or you make a fool of yourself, which you already have done so.

a single payer nationalised health service works in every country it has ever been implemented. you dont have to abandon private health, you can have a nice mix of both. in australia we have a good mix of private and public competing, it works and its efficient and its half the cost of americas ridiculous situation. i dont think americans quite understand that when it comes to delivery of health care, the rest of the world is laughing at you.

this thread reminds me of a joke;

a nurse, a doctor and a HMO administrator die, and go to heaven. they are met at the pearly gates by st peter, who introduces himself, and asks each one in turn why they think they should be allowed into heaven.

the nurse says "i spent my life caring for people who were sick, ensuring they recovered, ensuring they were looked after when at their most vulnerable". st peter is happy and says "welcome to heaven, you can enter"

the doctor says "i spent my life helping people make literally life or death decisions, it was a big responsibility, and my work ensured people lived as much as possible". st peter again is happy with this and says "you can enter, welcome to heaven"

the HMO administrator says "i spent my life managing money, deciding what was and was not paid for, ensuring the HMO got value for money". st peters thinks, long and hard, and eventually says "you can enter too"

as the HMO administrator is walking past, st peter says "you can stay 3 days. then you can go to hell".
Thanks from imaginethat and RNG

It's been over 50 years since LBJ created the Medicare/Medicaid programs, which have become real success stories. Over the past 50 years they have not only provided medical insurance to millions of the most vulnerable among us, but also helped ensure that medical bills following an accident or illness don’t impoverish them or their families.
So why do some Americans have such a negative attitude, even when discussing the possibility of Medicare for All?? Conservative twaddle. Fear. Lies.
Medicare allows us to see any doctor we want, we get care when they need it, and the quality of service is high. Prescription drugs are subsidized and believe me when I say that Seniors NEED drugs for everything from blood pressure to cholesterol--from diabetes to thyroid....and everything in between.
Medicare For All could work, if implemented wisely.
Thanks from right to left
