Fraser Institute you say! Aren't they the ones who've been trying to re-privatize healthcare for the past 30 years?

Don't forget, at least half or more of life expectancy depends on genetic factors to start with. And when it comes to environmental factors killing Americans today, the collapsing white working class is spiking drug abuse and suicide rates as they lose hope for improvement in a sea of debt. All it takes is a bad diagnosis that will cost thousands and they're killing themselves!

Well, we go through stages in life; most of us grow out of the bad stuff by our mid-20's when it's time to grow up. I don't have any addictions, still run, bike, work out three times a week, and I only go to the doctor when I need a medical. My wife on the other hand, has medical issues and fortunately my group insurance at work has a prescription drug plan.

I will avoid going down the track towards the medical system which I consider something to use only when needed, and as you get older, it's equivalent to trying to spin your way out of a ditch! No matter what operations my peers get or new drugs they have to take, they'll never recover their full health, and have to settle for living out the rest of their days in less than active lives.

So, I'm not a fan of Big Med either! But, if people need medical care, it should be a shared cost of society, as we are all beneficiaries early in life/become benefactors (hopefully) in our productive years/ and are back to being beneficiaries again near the end of life. If we've had healthy, active lives, the decline is sharp and brief...as it was for my 102 year old aunt who died three years ago after a brief illness.

But, what baffles me about the anti-public healthcare crowd in the US, is most of you aren't millionaires and will be financially ruined if anything really bad happens to you or a family member. I'm wondering how many of this growing 50+ white male suicide demographic were Republicans who got a cancer diagnosis from the doctor!

Public health insurance doesn't cover all of your medical needs, and with our aging population, the strain is increasing our tax costs (including surcharges) and benefits are being cut to keep hospitals within budget. But, I can see now that America's response to aging boomers will be a lot of old people left to die on the streets!

How much of the decreased incidents of factors that lessen lifespan in evil socialist countries are due to government paid advertising campaigns, mandated school curricula and health free clinics that teach and encourage better lifestyle choices?

Just because pretty much every industrialized western nation in the world can figure it out does not mean dumb-ass Americans can.
You're right dude, much to hard for Americans to figure out. Especially with Donny The Dumbfuck in the WH and a bunch of dumbfuck GOP's running Congress. Not a chance in hell.

To be honest, U.K. Has many private Corp. making evil profit in support of Healthcare. From X-ray to lab work. Some Corp are from other countries so you are getting more privatized each and every year. About 36.8 percent of NHS is private contracts.

Note the private contracts. That's contracts with the government. I just got a series of X-rays from a private firm. I had to wait a whole half hour for them. It cost me nothing above my tax rate, since you would go wild if I said it was "free".

Our governments fund health care. Each province administers it through, usually a board of non-political health care professionals. And these boards negotiate a fee structure with the private firms.
