That's been tried, when that happens the wealthy BECOME "the government."

Civilized countries in the twenty-first century don't accept slavery, and neither does the US now, though the framers of your beloved Constitution took it pretty much for granted. Similarly, civilized countries regard health care as equivalent of education - something provided, naturally, by society. Do join the present age, Americans - all this antiquated woofling by the extremist right is very tedious.

Start paying for your own military as we back out of the world police and international charity businesses.

Because there is an inherent flaw to using the free market to administer health care....That is the goal posts keep moving... Because of free market (Competitive) forces...better ways are found to combat serious diseases and prolong life, thereby raising the bar for what is considered accepted health care.... So now it becomes more and more expensive, because medicine is expected to fight diseases like Alzheimer's or various cancers, or whatever....and because of advances in medicine people live longer and then start running into new health problems that were not encountered when life expectancy was in the lower ages.....

Bottom line is the more health care advances the more people expect of it, and there will always be those who can pay for the advanced care and those who can not...

No comment on the geographical limitations imposed by your beloved GOP? Or all the variations of the Mickey Mouse law? Or jiggering the definition of new for patent purposes?

Like it being legal for that guy to increase the price of that old medication by 500%+ and not allowing generic drugs seemingly ever?

Where did I say they didn't??

I have a problem with universal health care on the Federal Level....not on the State level.....The problem with that is that it stifles the competition that does create the better health cares and longevity... But if people are not aware of better cures, they won't demand as much and that keeps the health care costs down... will they??
