It's Official!!

Just about everyone hates the new GOP healthcare bill!

From doctors to nurses to expectant mothers to nursing homes/elderly to blind and disabled......they all hate it and fear it.

Just About Every Major Medical Group Hates the GOP Health Care Plan. Within hours of its release, groups representing medical professionals were denouncing the Senate version, called the Better Care Reconciliation Act or BCRA.

"The Senate draft health care bill is literally heartless," American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown said.

"Medicine has long operated under the precept of Primum non nocere, or 'first, do no harm'," The American Medical Association said in a letter to Senate leaders released Monday.
"The draft legislation violates that standard on many levels." AND does so much harm to:

*Women--The Senate bill was crafted behind closed doors, by 13 men and no women. A search of the language used in the 142-page draft document (pdf) shows that womanhood and motherhood are, quite literally, also omitted from most of the bill itself. The word 'women' literally never appears in the bill.
*Children
*The poor
*The sick and disabled
*The elderly

So does anyone want to explain WHY the GOP thinks this plan is a good thing for America? Will this plan make America great?

They wish to cut a trillion dollars out of healthcare subsidies for our most vulnerable and shift that money, by way of tax cuts, to the wealthiest individuals in the country. This is not a healthcare bill. Rather, it's a huge tax cut for their wealthy masters. The Republican Party is a joke.

Little Kellyanne has a solution to all our healthcare issues:

Those on Medicaid who will lose insurance can get a job. Perfect! YES! Of course--why didn't WE think of that, Kellyanne. Send a memo immediately to the 85 yr old residents of nursing homes throughout the country and just say: QUITE your bellyaching--you lousy leaches. FOR the love of Mike!! GET A JOB. LOSERS!

AND all you abled-bodied folks!! GET A JOB. With benefits. Conway went on: "If they are able-bodied and they want to work, then they'll have employer-sponsored benefits like you and I do." Here's the problem, Ms. Conway. The majority of able-bodied adults on Medicaid already have jobs. The problem is that they work as parking lot attendants and child care workers, manicurists and dishwashers ― in other words, low-paying jobs that typically don't offer insurance. Take away their Medicaid and they won't be covered.
Idiot.

Apparently, PARTS of Obamacare are SOOO great, since the GOP is keeping them in the legislation.

I like it better than obamacare. Its not perfect but it has one key feature. It removes the mandate to purchase insurance. This one key part makes it not obamacate. So I am in favor.

Looks like some of the GOP are on your bandwagon, Clara:

Quote:
Do Republicans have the votes?

Not currently. Senator Collins, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin signalled on Monday that they would vote against even debating the bill.

Senator Collins, a moderate Republican, tweeted that the measure would "hurt most vulnerable Americans" in rural Maine, where "hospitals are already struggling".

Nevada Senator Dean Heller, another moderate Republican, who faces re-election next year, said on Friday he would vote no.

Latest CNN news email:

Quote:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will delay the vote on the Republican leadership's health care bill until after the July 4 recess, two sources told CNN.

McConnell told GOP senators that he wants to make changes to the bill, get a new Congressional Budget Office score and have a vote after the holiday.

A White House official and a GOP aide on the Hill told CNN that White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and Vice President Mike Pence have invited all Republican senators to the White House on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the bill.
I guess they figured out they had to do a bit more polishing of this turd.
