And I'm not denying that some Canadians leave for cancer treatments in other places. But if they are doing it on an insurance plan, it is an insurance plan they bought outside the country. I do doubt your tens of thousands claim.

If in fact some come to the clinic you speak of, it's because they offer some experimental, unproven treatment that hasn't shown any promise but your for profit clinics are still more than willing to fleece the gullible for. A good friend of mine paid a Mexican clinic tens of thousands of dollars to treat his wife when the docs here said she was terminal without treatment options.

She died during the treatment but he still had to pay full costs.

Then his son got cancer. This time he flew him to Paris. That was for about $40k. At least the treatment that time didn't kill him, just made no difference other than to the guys retirement plans.

I have had the full gamut of exposure to the Canadian cancer treatment system and it is top notch, first class and in my case very successful.
Don't forget that MANY in the U.S. go to other countries for treatment. Because it is cheaper. And because of this, many if not all insurance companies support this. So much for our "service based" economy.
