Are my health problems pointing to severe OCD?

Hi, I am suffering from OCD. I am on medication. But I am not feeling completely good. I feel sad and disappointed most of the times. I also feel restless, sleep deprived and very anxious. So I stopped taking the medicine. But I feel addicted and I was in immediate need of it after leaving the medicine. I feel like I am losing control of myself and fear that I will go mad. I am really weak and tired. Are my health problems pointing to severe OCD? Seeing my condition, my friend suggested undergoing cognitive behaviour therapy. I am planning to undergo the therapy tomorrow. Has anyone had undergone a cognitive behaviour therapy before? How is this therapy done? Will this therapy help to overcome OCD? Please share your views and suggestions. Thank you!
