The tunnel people of Las Vegas

Deep beneath Vegasís glittering lights lies a sinister labyrinth inhabited by poisonous spiders and a man nicknamed The Troll who wields an iron bar.

But astonishingly, the 200 miles of flood tunnels are also home to 1,000 people who eke out a living in the stripís dark underbelly.

Some, like Steven and his girlfriend Kathryn, have furnished their home with considerable care - their 400sq ft 'bungalow' boasts a double bed, a wardrobe and even a bookshelf.

I just hope that a close friend and her husband don't become one of those. I'd open my home to them.

I would prefer death over living in a situation like that.

You really can't say what you would do until it happens.

I would rather live no matter. Unless it involved daily physical torture and incarceration.

Not me. Living on the streets is something that is totally unacceptable to me. It would represent a life failure that is unrecoverable.

I think that being alive is a success, and that maintaining life is a good start to better days.

Yes, I can agree with that. There are some people, though, who'd rather live on the streets and be homeless. If you ask them if they rather live in a dwelling, they'd probably say no.
