We don't need them as voters. In a couple of generations they would vote the posterity of the founding fathers out of power completely and all this would be moot.

I detest the dishonest legal v. "illegal" argument. If a person can find a willing employer to hire them and a willing landlord to rent to them or a home seller willing to sell to them, you should just accept their unalienable Right to Liberty and let it go. Sure, you can force people to become citizens, but that's why you have so many people voting for the destruction of the Republic as it is.

This country became great because we allowed people to freely come and go while the privileges of citizenship were kept as just that - privileges of citizenship. AND, we did not demand that every Tom, Slick and Harry that washed up on our shores become a citizen.

Seriously, the country needs immigration to sustain the economy.
Economic growth is the sum of population growth and productivity growth.
If we depended on productivity increases, our growth rate would be around 1%.
And in the long run, if you are going to have broad based distribution of wealth, you need to keep your after tax return on investment lower than the growth rate.
When wealth gets too concentrated, the system collapses.
Productivity-growth is NOT dependent on population growth. Deficit-growth is dependent on outpacing productivity. We currently have millions of people out of work and dependent on food-stamps and welfare. Add to that a million plus legal immigrants annually and a continuing flood of illegal aliens, and the government has successfully created a dependency class they can count on for votes. This insanity must be stopped!

We are now a nation, in case you haven't noticed. Since becoming a Republic, our legal immigration needs are dependent upon OUR needs. Your bleeding heart mantra no longer applies. We are not the "welcome-wagon -welfare department" for the world.

We've been a nation for many years before any perceived "need" for foreigners to do things we cannot or will not do. Your board name claims to be a conservative, but you don't sound like no conservative I ever heard of. If we did not have to waste so much money on the atmosphere of the pee test, blood test, hair sample, MVR check, credit check, criminal background check, driver’s license, National ID Card / E Verify, Socialist Surveillance Number – ooop. “Social Security Number,” birth certificate, occupation license, credit card, firearms license, proof of insurance, DNA sample, fingerprints, and access to your social media accounts, we could spend some time rehabilitating some of the seven and half million people in the criminal justice system and the fourteen million plus with records.

We've wasted TRILLIONS of tax dollars on anti-immigrant laws; almost eviscerated the LIBERTIES protected under our Constitution; forced nearly half of our population onto some kind of government program... most of it under the pretext of fighting so - called "illegal aliens."

What a crock! If, instead of wasting billions upon billions of dollars on the monitoring and record keeping of Americans along with the 24 / 7 / 365 womb to the tomb surveillance we used the money to educate and retrain those with a criminal history, we'd never "need" a single citizen from any other country. ALL of our immigration would simply be out of the kindness of our hearts.

The reality is, this keeps coming back to forced citizenship. We don't "need" any new citizens.

And lets not forget class to make sure in your perfect world that those just wanting to work do not pay taxes, get to have a drivers license (free), get to have free public schooling for their children, free medical, and as a bonus send much of their earned gringo dollars out of the country! That is your perfect world in your very poor thought out black and white scheme

This, we cannot or will not do certain work is based on what? Would that be a level of pay commiserate with the job? The question then becomes, why? When 26-states are providing more in welfare and food stamps than can be made working, why would anyone take that job. When employers are allowed to pay a substandard wage, illegal alien workers then become dependent upon to do that work which in turn creates a need. It's a never ending cycle of need built on criminal activity. The illegal alien employer work ladder has now move from agriculture to service, construction and other forms of work. Which is destroying our middle class. The blame lies squarely on local, state, and the Federal government for allowing criminal activity that is robbing legal American citizens.
