Then the parents are accepting responsibility for the child and the child and the babe. Now before you say, well what if they cant afford it. We crossed that field when we made singled mom a new federal occupation. Hell it would probably be a pay increase.

Why should the parents have the right to burden their kid with a kid?

Because its as you put it their kid. Children do not have Constitutional rights the same as adults. For example. A 15 year old says I refuse to go to school. The 15 year old can be forced to attend school and is forced to attend school or is subject to being arrested and found guilty of truancy. But, if an adult says I refuse to go to work, the adult is not arrested. They just lose their job. If a 15 year old disagrees, then they do have recourse. They can petition the court to become an emancipated minor for instance.

Who has legal custody of the new baby. the legal responsibility for the baby?
The 15 year old kid or her parents?
How about the father of the baby? What are his legal rights/responsibilities?

And if letting the parents know their teenager is pregnant endangers the welfare of the teenager that's just tough noogies?

i am disinterested in the financial aspects of it, just the ethics. a 16 year old girl asks their parents for permission to have a termination, and the parents say no. you are ok with that. with a 16 year old girl forced, against her will, to go through 10 months of pregnancy and deliver a baby against her wishes.

she doesnt want to. she doesnt want to face those risks, it is not in her interests physically or mentally, or socially, or in any way, she can see that the best thing is a quick and early termination. but mummy and daddy are idealogues who disagree, and they force their opinion onto her body.

and you are ok with that?

now, lets look at the other side. 16 year old girl gets pregnant and wants to keep it. but mummy and daddy dont want her to, they think its going to harm her future, so they make the decision that she has a termination. its their decision to make, after all, she is a minor, the child is not her responsibility, that lies with her parents.

so the authorities come around, kick in her bedroom door, drag her kicking and screaming to the hospital where she is ,presumably, tied down, medicated and given an abortion that she clearly doesnt want.

i must assume you are ok with this too?
