People subjectively decide whether God is real.
I profoundly appreciate when people can acknowledge what you just said because there are too many people who cannot acknowledge your statement as fact.
Too many atheists focus their God-ain't-real arguments on the biblically based judeo-christian concept of God.

That's low-hanging fruit, imo.

Very true.

And as a corollary on what I previously said, too many atheists also claim science supposedly proves there is no god.
It does NO such thing...

Why does what anyone thinks matter? It's what you think that does.

May I suggest Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. There are certain truths that exist across the board of civilized culture that cannot be proven using pure science, or even pseudo-science. What is the nature of morality? What makes a truly "good" person? What is the measure and value of freedom? Is there a dimension of reality that extends beyond the reach of empirical senses? When one becomes open-minded enough to begin exploring these kinds of questions, rather than writing them off as irrelevant, then the door opens to genuine inquiry into the question of whether there is an intelligence in the universe greater than ourselves. If we're not willing to honestly embrace this realm of intellectual pursuit, then we shut down the whole learning process and fall back on our own preconceived ideas and falsely regard those who DO pursue such inquiry as intellectually inferior. One reason some people don't want to deal with these kinds of questions honestly is because their own preconceived anti-theological reasoning caves in upon itself in the end, so they disregard such thinking as foolish and convince themselves that it doesn't matter. And this they erroneously tag as "science".

You decide subjectively. Which means you choose to believe what you want to believe. Why might you want yo believe in God?

Picture the person you love most in the world, hopefully more than yourself.

If there is no God this person has no more value than the pig or cow you ate for dinner last night. There is no special uniquiness that gives this person any value over any person anywhere in the world. In a few years science will progress to build a robot copy of this person good enuf to fool you, at least for a limited time.

I can't argue you into believing in God. I offer this as a possible reason you might want to.
Thanks from Asimov

Do you think you are a better person than Harvey Weinstein?

(I'll assume you said yes)

Congratulations! That means you are not an atheist.
