Should we pull out?

There is a heated debate going on right now about when they should bring out troops home. Personally, I am in favor of this timetable to bring the troops back home.

President Bush says he is standing firm on vetoing any bill that crosses his desk about it.

What does everyone think about this, should we pull out or not?

If we really need oil, we could import some fom Canada and Alaska. Bring them home, we've lost to many.

You know, the president is a stubborn man. I feel that he thinks that things in Iraq don't look good, yet he continues to believe that the USA is winning over there. The question is: How??

Ever since this war seems to have belong to the terrorists, we do need to bring our troops home. They are being killed innocently.

I see where the Saudis arrested more than 170 militants today, and the US troops arrested nine more in Iraq. There's still too many terrorists out there.

I voted no. . .

I was listening to the Neal Boortz Show today, and a caller (who is presently serving as an Army Ranger in Iraq) phoned in. He was literally in tears, begging the American People to let him finish his job over there. I wish I had a link to his call. . . you've got to hear it for the message to really sink in. These troops want to finish their jobs, so we should let them. . . Any other option (like pulling out our troops) would be a failure. Furthermore, we would be failing the exceptional men and women who are sticking their necks out in Iraq for us - so the world can be a more peaceful place. I mean, I don't usually cry, but I did after listerning to this guy's message today. . .

Actually, there are MORE terrorists since Bush's aggressive and illegal aggression on Iraq and his policy of occupation he still possesses.

We need out of there as both Saudi Arabia and Iran are providing the Sunni and Shiite respectively groups aid to win the area and oil for their own.

Second paragraph is interesting. Yet why do the Sunnis and Shiites keep fighting against each other? That's like one crime family pitted against another to control whatever they see fit, oil being one of them.

The sooner we are outta there, the two warring factions can either settle their differences or just continue to maim each other.

It is rather difficult to explain.

My heart says that not one more American serviceman (or woman) should die in this non-war that we can never win. ("The war is over", remember?)

But my head tells me that I really don't know enough to say with confidence that we cannot win.

Many members of the military seem to think that we can still salvage a win. (See Nightrider's post for instance.)

On the other hand, from the point of view of my living room, the ghost of The Vietnam Conflict appears to be hovering over Iraq. Our list of enemies seems to be growing rather than diminishing.

Ultimately, I feel that I really do not have enough knowledge to make that decision.

And I am not sure that anyone who is not privy to the inner workings of both the Pentagon & the State Department really does have that knowledge.

(I just wish that I had more confidence in the people who do have access to that knowledge.)
