Fifty-three percent of likely voters questioned in the poll say they are backing Obama for president, with 45 percent supporting McCain.

53-45=8

Well, it is less than a month to go before the election. Do we think that Obama will win this?

IDK, who knows what'll happen in the final days and weeks to the election. However when John McCain has to go on the defensive in states like Virginia, North Carolina, and New Hampshire, and when his campaign openly acknowledges they are giving up in Michigan, you know he's in trouble.

Not to mention giving up Michigan without consulting or informing your VP nominee who finds out from the morning news.

Do you sense that this campaign is imploding?

I was surprised that the campaign didn't tell Gov. Palin that they were changing strategy as soon as they decided upon the change. Shouldn't telling your VP things like this be important?

Probably due in part to his sinking poll numbers and the realization that he can't beat Obama on the issues,(Obama did hold his own quite well against him in the 1st debate on foreign policy, which really is McCain's only perceived strength.) McCain really is in desperation mode now.

Nearly all of the campaign's ad money is now being allotted to negative attack ads.

TPM Election Central | Talking Points Memo | McCain Campaign's Ad Spending Now Nearly 100 Percent Devoted To Attack Ads

When a audience member very loudly and clearly called Barack Obama a terrorist, McCain stood silent and did not reprimand the man.

So much has changed in eight years...
