The people who's taxes would be raised are not suffering and haven't been suffering through this. You cannot simply make a comparison between how much Obama has spent compared to how much Bush has spent. That is not an accurate analysis of what truly happened. Obama didn't come into office with a surplus like Bush did, Obama had to save the country from another Great Depression. Which he has done so far, even with the republicans holding the country hostage to their ideology and their blind thirst for power. And of course that first part was Bush's spending as well, with the TARP. The factors clearly prove that it has been the republicans and Bush that have brought this country to the crisis we are in now, and that Obama has not spent enough to get us out of it, again due to republican obstructionism.

The democrats have solutions, but the R's in the House won't sign on, and neither will the R's in the Senate. They are putting career over country and have moved so far to the right, there is no way that they can compromise. There is no way to fix the deficit by cutting spending alone. That is a fact, and we have cut and cut already. We are bringing the lowest amount of revenues in many decades. There is no solution for our problems without a balanced approach that is both spending cuts and revenue increases. Period. Any republican that will not increase revenues, should be recalled. They are destroying this country, and it is apparently their plan to do so. That is pretty serious.

Bush compared to Obama.. Who has spent more thus-far?

Please explain to me in detail Obama's plan? No one seems to really know..

Also, do you feel it's really necessary to raise taxes during a time where people are suffering? Seems to me everyone wants to move towards Socialism?? You state "increase revenues" which is another word for "increase taxes". Deval Patrick did it here in Massachusetts and he's burrying us into a deep hole of debt, totally screwing with all of the good that Mitt Romney did for this state when he was in Governor.

Maybe it's time for me to start "abusing" the system and living off of other peoples hard-earned money. Is that fair?

Is it fair that the richest people in the country are getting all the breaks? Is it fair that their taxes have gone down while wages have stagnated and they haven't lived up to the term "job creators" that everyone keeps putting on them? Is it fair that we are lagging behind in education and that while the rich have been steadily increasing their wealth while college costs have gone up and people's wages haven't/ Or that energy costs have skyrocketed and people's incomes have actually dropped? C'mon. You aregument is a failure, and it is based on ignoring the actual facts.

Rather an unfair comparison.

Bush left such a mess it was inevitable his successor would have to spend more to pay for the wars and the millions on unemployment insurance. And handouts to the states, etc etc etc

Do you think McCain would have spent less than Obama? I don't see how.

Nobody likes paying taxes but nobody wants to cut spending if it affects them!

I think it's time to raise the rates for SS and Medicare contributions. People are living longer and it costs more.

If you want to call that a tax fair enough, it's really more like saving for your future. Some day you will get it all back and more.

That's true, Obama is rapidly running out of ideas.

But what is the Republican plan? They have run the House for 8 months and unemployment has INCREASED.

All they do is say No

The only plan they have is to get rid of Obama at all costs. And if that happens what will they do then?

I haven't heard any Republican candidate articlate any ideas to reduce unemployment
