Liberals do know that republicans are against abortion and social programs, (welfare etc.) The conservative way is for them to be born, then watch them starve in the street or get bf'd in their prison for profit scam!

Now they will know how bad Our Country has been screwed!

On Jan. 8, 2002, then president George W. Bush signed No Child Left Behind into law, ushering in an era of standardized test-based school reform. This assessment of the NCLB decade was written by Lisa Guisbond with Monty Neill and Bob Schaeffer, all from the National Center for Fair and Open Testing, known as FairTest, a Boston-based organization that aims to end the misuse of standardized tests. Guisbond is a policy analyst, Neill is executive director and Schaeffer is public education director.

More Americans think No Child Left Behind has made education in the U.S. worse rather than better, according to results from a Gallup poll released Monday.

Of those surveyed, 29 percent believe the Bush-era education law has worsened education in America, compared with just 16 percent who said it has improved the system. Another 38 percent said NCLB hasn't made much of a difference, while 17 percent are not familiar enough with the policy to rate its effectiveness. Of those who say they are "very familiar" with the law, 28 percent say it has made education better and 48 percent worse.

WASHINGTON — A company headed by President Bush's brother and partly owned by his parents is benefiting from Republican connections and federal dollars targeted for economically disadvantaged students under the No Child Left Behind Act.

With investments from his parents, George H.W. and Barbara Bush, and other backers, Neil Bush's company, Ignite! Learning, has placed its products in 40 U.S. school districts and now plans to market internationally.

It is so unbelievable that...on THIS site...when the truth is defended so far as the Democratic Party's complicity in not just racism...but in lynchings, as well...that some on the Left have actually said:

"Yeah...but these people switched parties and are Republicans now."

This is why I just don't converse with some here on distortingthetruth...

What chijones...

yeah, Bush signed "no child left behind", but ted kennedy wrote it. the law is liberal in source and intent. more liberalism is not a cure for the problems liberals create.

contending that conservatives are selfish compared to liberals is absurd, every poll and survey taken shows conservatives far and away more personally generous than liberals.

and to look at a hungry child and respond that they would be better off dead? Is that caring? Is that generous? Should we go over to east africa and just start mowing people down with machine guns in helicopters because their lives are miserable and we've decided that they are better off dead?(sarcasm)

what liberals don't know:

conservatives are generous, caring people

look at the released tax returns from national politicians for the last several years. the more conservative candidates always give more to charity than the more liberal ones. there is even a year where I personally gave more to charity than algore on about 1% of his income. and algore's income didn't even include the greater part of his wealth that is sheltered in a trust from being reported on his personal tax return.

what liberals don't know:

generosity does not mean taking wealth away from people who you don't know and deciding you have a better use for it.

that is arrogance, envy and theft.

what liberals don't know:

U.S. Strategy Plan Calls for Insuring No Rivals Develop
A One-Superpower World

Pentagon’s Document Outlines Ways to Thwart Challenges to Primacy of America
By Patrick E. Tyler

Special to The New York Times

WASHINGTON, March 7 – In a broad new policy statement that is in its final drafting phase, the Defense Department asserts that America’s political and military mission in the post-cold-war era will be to ensure that no rival superpower is allowed to emerge in Western Europe, Asia or the territories of the former Soviet Union.

A 46-page document that has been circulating at the highest levels of the Pentagon for weeks, and which Defense Secretary Dick Cheney expects to release later this month, states that part of the American mission will be “convincing potential competitors that they need not aspire to a greater role or pursue a more aggressive posture to protect their legitimate interests.”

The classified document makes the case for a world dominated by one superpower whose position can be perpetuated by constructive behavior and sufficient military might to deter any nation or group of nations from challenging American primacy.
