Useless piece of information... There is no country called Holland. The country is called De Nederlands (or The Netherlands). Holland is one province in the country. That's like calling the United States, Texas. The video clearly calls it The Netherlands but the title posted here was Holland. Just pointing out this fact.
Thanks from Twisted Sister

Even more useless trivial bullshit as most Netherlanders refer to themselves as Holland.
Thanks from RNG

Really? Have you visited or lived there? I lived therein the late 80's and again in the mid 90's. I heard many Dutch correct Americans when they called the country Holland. Yes, when traveling some may call the country Holland only because they get tired of explaining where The Netherlands is to Americans. There is also another provide, Friesland of the Netherlands that pretty much thinks it is its own country. they even have their own language of West Lauders Frisian, they also speak Dutch and English.

When you look at the Wiki for Holland, you actually see that some Dutch consider calling the whole country by that name undesirable, misleading or insulting.
I lived in the provinces of Overijssel and later Gelderland. That area of the country does not like someone referring to the country as Holland or at least didn't a couple decades ago.

Nice ninja edit there. Here's the actual quote from Wikipedia.

Quote:
The name Holland is also frequently used to informally refer to the whole of the country of the Netherlands. This usage is commonly accepted in other countries, and not entirely uncommon among the Dutch themselves, though some in the Netherlands and particularly in other regions of the country may find it undesirable,[2] misleading or insulting.
I've worked with three Dutch citizens and went to a school with a large immigrant Dutch element.

They all used Holland.

Semantics, they are interesting. But seem to apply only when the Liberals are using it. Why is that?
