I don't hunt water fowl. Upland game only, I love Pheasant and Quail.

Do you practice being wrong so much or is it just a natural talent?

There are several people who never bought off on the lead shot killing waterfowl either, at least not in the numbers the USFWS was saying. I always thought it was to protect the eagles who did die from it when they ate a cripple duck or goose. As far as I am concerned, if steel shot has been a big reason for the eagles come back then cool. Works for me. But, you can not explain to the ignorant, who are willing to remain ignorant, that lead shot from a shotgun is totally different than a rifle bullet.

Well, nothing in your articles has fuck all to do with lead RIFLE ammunition. Let me clear up some confusion for you.

This is a shotgun shell. Lead shot for hunting waterfowl has been banned in them. Starting in 1992. There is good reasons for that

This is typical center fire rifle or handgun cartridge. Notice there is no shot in it? It is a single projectile, that I assure you is not anything comparable to shotgun pellets being shot over a marsh. I also assure you that there has been no study to prove that lead rifle ammunition is causing any of the problems you cite. Your own sources do not demonstrate it either. They are referring to shotgun, not rifle. Banning lead rifle or shotgun slugs is based on no science, no studies and is nothing more than veiled gun control.
Thanks from Jimmyb and Sabcat

Well let me clear something up for you. Those lead bullets from rifles are still introduced into the environment. Maybe your kids will never suffer from them, but are you sure about your grandkids?

If lead shotgun pellets are bad, what would make rifle bullets good?

And I was hunting when you weren't.

You have to even ask that? You really can not grasp the difference between shot from a shotgun and a bullet from a rifle cartridge? You really think there is so many spent lead bullets out there from hunting that were going to poison ourselves with lead poison. Well fuck me, if that was the case people living around Gettysburg, Shiloh, Vicksburg, fill in blank large civil war battlefield area, would be dropping like flies huh. Read the sources you gave me. They actually explain how lead shot, from a SHOTGUN can be detrimental to wildlife. No where in your sources does it mention a bullet. No where. The reason is simple. There simply is not enough evidence or data to support trying to study the impact of spent rifle bullets causing the problems that shotgun shot does.

There is nothing odder than the American obsession with killing things. I once had the job of killing rats in traps, and I hated it, and once upon a time had to shoot rabbits with a shot-gun that was such crap they used to sit there and laugh. The main devotees of this pointless butchery here are rich landowners and their business mates, who slaughter such mountains of pheasants and partridges that they are forced to give some away, which we used to suffer, When I think of those ghastly heaps of shot in not-very-pleasant meat, I'm baffled. Use bullets only on yourselves, sportsmen! And, by the way, our birds may be more intelligent than yours, but they appear to learn very quickly not to get themselves killed by windfarms.

Fine, so explain that significant difference between the lead in shotgun pellets and a rifle bullet.

Yes. Many times. For 15 years we lived in a small town on the Wisconsin River where Bald Eagles nested and were very visible December through February.
Why do you ask??
