Going it alone or taking joint efforts?

Uncle Sam once went camping with his four friends -- a Korean, a Japanese, a Chinese and a Russian -- on a Korean mountain. As his Korean friend had fallen ill on the way, Uncle Sam handed a cooking pot with the ingredients to his Chinese friend who was a Korean food expert. The Chinese, however, rejected his request. Pushing back the cooking pot to Uncle Sam, he said that making Korean broth was not his responsibility but required joint efforts from all sides. Uncle Sam quoted a proverb in response: "Too many cooks spoil the broth."

While both men wasted much valuable time pushing the cooking pot to each other, the ghost of Uncle Sam's great-grandfather appeared suddenly in the dim moonlight. "What variant of Taiji are you guys practising with a cooking pot? My dear great-grandson, the longer the cooking pot shuttles back and forth between both parties, the longer I remain nostalgic about our good old days. You may get an inkling of what to do next after listening to my story."

Taking a short pause, the apparition continued: "A long time ago during a mountain trekking trip with my two friends in Japan, we arrived at a small hut. As the door was not locked, we pushed open the door but found nobody inside. As we were very hungry, we went at once into the kitchen to look for something that could keep us trekking on our stomachs. I found some ingredients for making Japanese broth, but alas, it was too little for my big stomach. Without requesting help from others, I wasted no time making dashi and kept it all for myself, just giving a few drops to my Chinese friend. My Russian friend got none, but he was crafty enough to pocket four dried baby anchovies quietly while I was attending to the broth."

Casting a glance at the Chinese and the Russian who were cowering in a corner, the spectre broke into laughter and and faded away gradually into the thin air.

The US Government did a double blind study years ago. Uncle Sam built a block house of concrete with no windows, light or electricity and only one door. Government researchers put two Germans and two ball bearings inside and locked the door. One month later when they opened the door the two Germans were tuning up a Volkswagen. Then they put two Japanese inside with two ball bearings and locked the door and one month later they were listening to a Stereo System. Then they put two blacks and two ball bearings inside and they lost one ball bearing and tore up the other. That Georgia joke is racist but you can use any race in the joke and it is still funny to me.

I do not mean to be racist with my political satire. Rather, I use it to reflect certain global events in which particular countries are represented by their races.

The "good old days" in my political satire refer to the peak of American Empire in 1945 when America monopolised the atomic bomb. Like Uncle Sam's "great-grandfather" who was decisive enough to make the Japanese broth all for himself, the then US President Truman decisively changed the original plan (which he had agreed with Stalin) of dividing Japan. Instead, he occupied Japan primarily with US troops, leaving out the Chinese and Russians. No wonder the "spectre" in my satire remained nostalgic about its "good old days" when he recollected giving his Chinese and Russian friends a few drops and none of the Japanese broth respectively. It must be laughing to itself to think how his crafty Russian friend pocketed four dried baby anchovies quietly while he was attending to the broth.

If you can't laugh at yourself, you're doomed to fail. Back in the day it was West Virginia jokes in Ohio. Get one West Virginian to swim across the Ohio River and the rest can walk across on the scum. In Georgia it is Alabama jokes. What is the best thing about I-20? To get the hell out of Alabama.

1. Well said. For those readers who still do not understand the symbolic meanings hidden in my political satire, let me point out that I don't write the "fairy tale" just for the fun of it. It is about a severe crisis facing the world now, that is, the North Korean threat to the US, South Korea, Japan, and even China, Russia, Southeast Asia and the rest of the world at a point of time in the future. On many occasions in recent years, North Korea had threatened to fire nuclear missiles at the US mainland.

2. Accordin to https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/417949...-threat-us-uk/

North Korea had urged the US administration to "wave a white flag and fundamentally change her North Korea policy", otherwise it would "end the US" with unexpected "gift packages" of nuclear missiles.

3. The following are excerpts from a news report headlined North Korea says threatens to teach US a 'severe lesson'

(Begin excerpts)
Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho issued a statement at the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) forum in Manila on Monday saying North Korea is ready to give the US a “severe lesson” with its strategic nuclear force if it takes military action against it.

...North Korea said in a statement it would launch “thousands-fold” revenge against the US over the sanctions.

“There is no bigger mistake than the United States believing that its land is safe across the ocean,” it said.... (End excerpts)
