The GOP's largess

Although this is in fact more sad than funny:

And the story behind it:

Social media users slam Ryan for tweet on $1.50 pay hike

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) was criticized Saturday on social media for citing a Pennsylvania woman whose paycheck went up by $1.50 a week as a success of the recently passed GOP tax-reform bill.

Ryan tweeted a link to an Associated Press report detailing how some workers have begun to see more take-home pay as the result of new withholding guidelines following the passage of the bill.

Ryan has since deleted that tweet. How could he be so out of touch to think that an extra $1.50 a week in one’s paycheck is something to brag about ? He received more in campaign donations from the Koch PACS than a teacher makes in their whole careers. And to think that the Banana Republicans call democrats elites.......LOl

GOT IT!

Paul Ryan on Twitter
“A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, PA, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week ... she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year. https://t.co/yLX1Bod1j0”

Buried under all the memo propaganda was a news release from the treasury department. The US is on track to borrow $955 BILLION dollars for fiscal year 2018. They anticipate that 2019 will need more than $1 TRILLION dollars in new debt.

In comparison we borrowed $519 Billion for fiscal 2017.

I don't agree with the Washington Times very often, but on this OP--I'm in total agreement:

Have you ever known someone who was exceptionally smart, very personable and highly accomplished, but was not particularly good at managing a large number of independently minded people? I have. His name is Paul Ryan.
Speaker of the House Ryan has a job that he did not seek and said he did not want. Unlike most members of Congress, Mr. Ryan is very knowledgeable about most of the issues he deals with — he is a bit of policy wonk. He has a solid understanding of economics, and especially tax economics.

Many times, we all heard Mr. Ryan and Mr. McConnell say if they won a majority of Republicans in the Congress and the White House they would get things done in an orderly fashion. In particular, they said they would go back to “regular order,” which meant that the Budget Act would be complied with. Fiscal responsibility and family values would triumph. IF only we gave them a chance. Ummmmm.....?

Paul Ryan is a likable guy--smiley, smart, successful---seems to care. He doesn't. Ryan has shown his true colors--just like many of his colleagues.
Ryan lies seamlessly, never breaking a sweat. Maybe he's been in Washington too long. Maybe he's part of the swamp. The problem with Paul is that he WANTS to be popular and he's willing to lie to his hometown of Janesville, WI to be Boy Wonder in D.C. The people of Janesville are smarter than that. They've noticed, Paul.
