It seems like a waste, either way.

According to my information he had no idea he was allergic. Apparently you can be stung any number of times with no issues beyond the pain of the sting itself, but can turn allergic at any point and find yourself in full shock, as was the case with this man.

I once went to the emergency room because I thought I was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. The emergency was very busy but someone was able to talk to me, and she asked about my symptoms. When I realized the symptoms of a bee sting are the same as a panic attack, I laughed at this situation and walked out. I used to have panic attacks and the emergency was too busy for me to sit around just to be told it was another panic attack.

So, WASPs now have superpowers too? Too much!

Must be some kinda terrorist wasp too - he directly caused the destruction of a Jeep - an American automotive icon if ever there was one.

& the final insult - even despite the tragedy of the Jeep:

Authorities didnít provide any updates on the wasp.
I was once going back from work on my motorbike when a wasp got, God knows how, into my goggles. It was, fortunately, a country road, so I just said. 'Oh bugger!' and pointed the bike at the hedge, thinking of the Ancestors. We beat the bloody Romans, the bloody Saxons and the bloody Normans, so what was a wasp? I went through the hedge and half-way across a field and fell off, unstung, liberating the wasp with respectful thanks. It was not unalarming!
Thanks from Lyzza

Shit, I better carry a bee sting remedy with me. With the information in this thread, I will be having panic attacks every time I am stung. I could carry a beer too. I have learned a beer will stop my panic attacks. If I die, at least I will die happy.

If it's any comfort, Wikipedia says that only 2% of the population develops a hypersensitivity to bee stings. & an EpiPen or similar can provide protection against a severe reaction. So by all means, carry an EpiPen. If it helps to calm your concern, it's worthwhile.

Pollinators are necessary - & their populations are under threat. The beekeepers & fruit farmers & entomologist specialists have been looking into the question of hive diebacks for years now. The same for bats in N. America, amphibians in the World.

Gender bias! How do we know nature is female or in heat and that she is trying to kill us?

I blame trump. I think he paid off that wasp to take out any potential rivals.

Note: Sorry bubba, couldn't resist the levity. News reports are usually depressing.
