Dump Roe v. Wade, and the backlash would eviscerate the GOP majority.
Why do you think that every now and then when they actually pass a bill to restrict abortion, they always write it in a way that the courts will toss it before it takes effect, do you think that's a silly slip up?
In 12 years, less than half the electorate will be white, how much do you want to fuck with that non white portion? When the minorities were 10% or 20%, it made sense to pander to white racists. But in 2012, with a shaky economy that would have sunk previous administrations, the movie star good looks of Mitt Romney, weren't enough to beat Obama, because that minority vote was bigger than ever. And this year, it's even bigger than in 2012.

So the GOP may talk the talk during the primaries, but when push comes to shove, they will think long and hard about getting too much, too soon, and being locked out for decades as a result.

LOL, can you even SPELL "reconciliation"?

Your point that, in 12 years the demographics will shift towards the Democrats, is something that I've pointed out myself. The problem with that is that we're talking about the next 5 years. What do you think a 7-2 Right leaning SC would mean for America ?

7) Anti-Trust laws - RENDERED TOOTHLESS AND MONOPOLIES INCREASE.

8 - Seperation between Church and State - THE LINE WILL BE BLURRED

9) Class action lawsuits - ACCESS SEVERELY WEAKENED.

Cruz as POTUS..with a Republican controlled House and Senate......Cruz...a real Constitutional Scholar...I can't wait to see who he would nominate to that Supreme Court...And then start here....Re-litigate those cases that redefined "General Welfare" starting with United States v Butler and Helvering v Davis....As these are the sources of all the misuse of taxpayers money and the foundation of the National Debt

I think Jimmyb did a pretty good job of summing it up. Are YOU having a problem with that?

At some point I think the GOP realizes that if they continue with the rhetoric and pandering that the coalition they put together will form a majority in fewer and fewer places.
And abortion, and Christianity and keeping the gays in their place aren't the real values of the GOP.
The purpose of the GOP is to serve it's owners, who want lower taxes, and regulations that favor them accumulating wealth.
They'll dump the anti abortion thing as soon as it turns into a loser, and it's a loser the day the SC overturns Roe.

Prices where cheaper before anti-trust laws.

There was never a line regarding the separation between church and state because the separation between church and state is not a constitutional concept.

What do you know about class action lawsuits and who are the winners?

I designed this thread for Democrats to discuss the costs of a potential 7-2 Right wing leaning SC. I knew that the Wingnuts would play their games on this thread and have by and large ignored their nonsense. I don't care what they think on this issue. I'm more interested in the Left discussing this issue. With that said, do you take issue with the 9 points I've listed thus far ?

Qualify your premise by explaining what a right leaning court is and a what a left leaning court is.

So you think that this two sided head of a coin would see no differences between a 7-2 Right leaning Supreme Court vs. a 6-3 Left leaning Supreme Court ?
