Glad to hear from Rosanne Cash...though I think her attitude and opinions are much more rare today in country music than they were in the 80's when she was making some crossover hits.

There was a time when the overwhelming majority of country music singers were conservative / right.

The first country singer I heard go left was Willie Nelson when he endorsed Jimmy Carter. Merle Haggard was conservative until the mid 2000s and he lost his damn mind (probably senility.)

Older country music was America's music. The songs told the story from the POV of the traditional American... right / white / Christian. As the country has changed, so has the music, the message and the willingness of its singers to sell out to the left.

I don't understand your question. Are you asking me who is now liberal in country music? Or maybe how the current crop identifies with liberalism?

Since I don't understand your question, let me draw you an analogy:

After the Las Vegas shooting, some of the country singers were quoted as having jumped ship on the gun issue and decided we need gun control now. It makes you wonder what they really believed in.

A little less than two years ago my brother in law called me to say his daughter and 5 year old grandson had been murdered along with the family dog. The boyfriend got wind that my brother in law was coming to take his daughter back home and out of an undesirable relationship. It was one of those deals where the boyfriend decided that if he couldn't have her, nobody could.

Anyway, at no time did my brother in law blame the firearm that ended his daughter and grandson's life. He fully understood the tragedy for what it was and that no amount of gun control would have averted this catastrophe.

The people singing country music today are NOT that caliber of people and are happy to sell out to people that normally have little to no respect for them.

Not always but the perception is that it is.

Roger Waters has opinions that I don't necessarily agree with, but he's still a good fucking musician and I'm still going to listen to his music. I don't get this idea that you can't listen to musicians because you don't like their politics. Can't you separate that shit?

People can use music to lure you into a lifestyle that you would normally reject. A lot of modern music is a glorification of violence, sadism, masochism, and even drug use. For that matter a lot of old rock music fits that description:

"Just got home from Illinois. Locked the front door Oh boy. Look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn"

Some snappy tunes can hide some horrific political and social concepts.
