What is Cultural Marxism?

Quote:

This is an excellent short video explaining the source and nature of Cultural Marxist movements like political correctness, modern feminism, pansexualism, multiculturalism, "whiteness studies," etc. For an in-depth critique of the thinkers whose writings shaped Cultural Marxism, see Fools, Frauds and Firebrands: Thinkers of the New Left

The video lost me when it noted: "If Christians are oppressive, then the solution is to propagate Islam." Of course.....

So yes, what is cultural Marxism?
Cultural Marxism generally refers to one of two things:

First — extremely rarely — "Cultural Marxism" refers to the general application of the Frankfurt School's Marxist ideology to the social sciences.

Second — in common usage in the wild — "Cultural Marxism" is a snarl word used to paint anyone with progressive tendencies as a secret Communist. The term alludes to a conspiracy theory in which sinister left-wingers have infiltrated media, academia, and science and are engaged in a decades-long plot to undermine Western culture. Some variants of the conspiracy alleges that basically all of modern social liberalism is, in fact, a Communist front group.

This conspiracy theory hinges on the idea that the Frankfurt School wasn't just an arcane strain of academic criticism. Instead, the Frankfurt School was behind an ongoing Marxist plot to destroy the capitalist West from within, spreading its tentacles throughout academia and indoctrinating students to hate patriotism & freedom. Thus, rock'n'roll, Sixties counterculture, the civil rights movement, the anti-war movement, homosexuality, modern feminism, and in general all the "decay" in the West since the 1950s are allegedly products of the Frankfurt school. It's also the work of the Jews.

The conspiracist usage originated in Nazi Germany, where Kulturbolschewismus ("Cultural Bolshevism") was used to abuse political opponents. In particular, Jews purportedly were secretly orchestrating the spread of Communism (Jewish BolshevismWikipedia's W.svg) as well as promoting sexual & gender permissiveness ("sexual Bolshevism").

If anyone rants about "Cultural Marxists taking over culture!", feel free to remind them that they're literally spouting Nazi propaganda updated for the modern era.

Cultural Marxism replaces the proletariat vs bourgeoisie meme with oppressor vs oppressed and is a stem off of postmodernism. Identity politics are an effect of these theories.

Call it a conspiracy theory if you like as that term was coined by the CIA inorder to discredit those who were going against the grain of the naritive being fed to the people by the state.

Do you deny that the oppressor vs oppressed narrative is being fed to the people or that it can be traced directly back to academia?

Sabcat is correct. We have been implementing cultural Marxism. We have been more successful with it than merely trying to rally the proletariat. Just look at CPUSA or the Progressive Labor Party. We discuss almost entirely social issues such as race and feminism. Both of which we have been highly successful in recruitment and reaching the values of a Marxist state. I am not ashamed of it I encourage it. The more we can encourage people to shout down or oppose ideology through violence the more powerful we become. The more accusers that come out against these old white men the more powerful we become. We now have successfully reclassified rape across many college campuses as any thing that a Woman feels is inappropriate. We have done away with due process across many Campuses and have been teaching our young that this is the best course to deal with people that disagree with you. This is very compatible to the teachings of Marx and is the core of what will be a great Communist revolution in the United States.

The proletariat vs bourgeoisie "meme" is a subset of the oppressed and oppressor "meme."

The CIA didn't coin the term "conspiracy theory."
The Oxford English Dictionary defines conspiracy theory as "the theory that an event or phenomenon occurs as a result of a conspiracy between interested parties; spec. a belief that some covert but influential agency (typically political in motivation and oppressive in intent) is responsible for an unexplained event". It cites a 1909 article in The American Historical Review as the earliest usage example, although it also appears in journals as early as April 1870. The word "conspiracy" derives from the Latin con- ("with, together") and spirare ("to breathe").

It all depends on what you mean by "fed."

I'm old enough to have lived in the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant world, where white men were men, and white women were women, everybody else knew their place and liked their place, the only good Indian was a dead Indian, pollution was nothing to worry about, George Washington chopped down the cherry tree, Davy Crockett kilt him a bar when he was only three, and saying the word "breast" was a huge social faux pas.

Gradually, the disconnection from the real world in which my parents' generation lived became apparent, and even more slowly the feeling we ought to do something about the disconnection grew.

So yes, I deny your point for the reasons above.

Not surprisingly you would prefer to discuss the origins of conspiracy theory than the topic at hand.

Quote:

In 2013 Professor Lance Dehaven-Smith in a peer-reviewed book published by the University of Texas Press showed that the term “conspiracy theory” was developed by the CIA as a means of undercutting critics of the Warren Commission’s report that President Kennedy was killed by Oswald. The use of this term was heavily promoted in the media by the CIA.
