Pork Anyone? You're paying for it !!!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060406/...ngress_pork_dc

How long has the Government (REPS&DEMS) been pissing away our

HARD EARND tax dollar?

Imagine if our government wanted to make our lives better. They could have

spent all this (and prior years) pork barrel money on say a Hydrogen/electric/

car industry!

1) It would have allow America to become independent of terrorist supporting

Oil producing countries.

2) All the money we spend for energy would stay in America rather than going

to other countries!

3) It would have allowed us to be leaders in new/clean technology. Which is

going to be come mandatory in the next decade or two.

4) If we where leader in new clean energy we would be economically

prosperous.

5) And we would have much less pollution to boot!

But the Dems&Reps Don't care about that silly stuff! They want a Cattle

Congress and Tea and Glass museums!

If we don't vote out the REPS&DEMS this BS will never stop!

What's so hard about realizing that the DEMS&REPS are corrupt and beyond

salvation??

And as long as you let the take advantage of you they will !

Well just as long as you pay for the Pork They don't care if you like it!

But maybe the American people are stupid and deserve to be taken advantage

of like this!.....

They give themselves raises, waste your(Americas) money, put us in

debt and what happens to them?.........

YOU RE-ELECT THEM.

More lies about my bridge I see. The bridge to nowhere, that connect Ketchikan to its airport. So not only do we have the 50 people on Pennick Island, we have the 200,000 people who utilize the airport annually. I wonder, where they included in the figures for determining how much money is being spent. Furthermore, the money for that bridge comes from Alaska's share of the Highway Trust Fund, all 50 states receive money from this fund. Alaska share is 2.1 Billion, 34 other states receive higher shares than Alaska.

Pork is a spending waste, I will be the first to agree. Earmarks should be removed altogether from the power of Congress. However, right now its the reason that people continue to send their Congressmen back, to bring the money home. One of two things needs to happen, either the people need to change, or the rules need to change. I doubt highly that the people will, so now it is time to change the rules.

Ronald Reagan wanted a line-item veto so that he could eliminate pork from budgets, he never got it. President Clinton was given the line-item veto from a Republican Congress, but the Supreme Court in all its wisdom rule it unconstitutional. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

Looks like the temptation to misuse power isn't just limited to Republicans these days...
