Florida Illegally Drew Congressional District Boundaries To Benefit GOP, Judge Rules

Florida Illegally Drew Congressional District Boundaries To Benefit GOP, Judge Rules

Quote:
The Florida Legislature illegally redrew boundaries defining congressional districts to benefit the Republican Party, a circuit court judge ruled Thursday.

The League of Women Voters, along with a coalition of voters, challenged the state's Republican-controlled Legislature after it redrew congressional district lines in 2012, suggesting boundaries were manipulated to benefit GOP candidates. Circuit Judge Terry Lewis, in a hard-hitting, 41-page ruling Thursday, accused political consultants of making "a mockery of the Legislature's transparent and open process of redistricting." The judge said the state's 5th Congressional District, held by Rep. Corrine Brown (D), and 10th Congressional District, held by Dan Webster (R), must be redrawn. Districts affected by the adjustments also will need to be redrawn.

They worry about non-existent voter fraud while Republican legislators work overtime to dilute the Democrat vote by sequestering large cities in a few huge districts and surrounding them with numerous small rural districts. There's a special place in hell waiting for these crooks.
Thanks from skews13 and LongWinded

Yeah, and they think they can win elections anymore by doing that. They have screwed most every group in this nation. The born agains are even leaving the flock finding the well is dry at the church. They are not spending money helping the poor parishionners. They are spending it getting gays to pray away their sexual identity.
Thanks from Camelot

In 2012, more votes were cast for Democrat House candidates than were cast for Republican candidates. They hold the House only by diluting the vote with gerrymandering. This judge in Florida said No Mas to this illegal anti-democracy scheme.

Don't talk too much. The first time I looked this up, there were lots of gerrymandered D friendly electoral districts too.

How many times have you been exposed as a liar regarding gerrymandering only to skulk away. And here you are doing it again.

The Republicans only control the house because of gerrymandering. More votes were cast for Democrat House candidates in 2012 then Republican candidates. If the will of the people were fairly tabulated, the Democrats would control the a House.

Thanks for pointing out the need for voting reform to stop the mental defectives from voting for my money.

Which is why they don't want to stop their gerry mandering.
Thanks from Camelot
