Cops Brag on Facebook About Tiny Pot Bust, Then The Internet Destroyed Them Read more

Quote:
A recent Facebook post this week, by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, highlights the utter failure that is the war on drugs. On Sunday morning, the department took to social media to brag about a pot bust that took place overnight. The poorly written post read as follows:

Sheriff Moore and his Deputies working hard to keep Madison County safe. 1 am on a late Saturday night, early Sunday Morning, and they are getting it done. More dopers in the Madison County Detention Center. And btw, looks like it’s packaged to sell so that’s one of the dealers!!!! Keep it up guys! Be safe, Be Diligent!!!

The mindset that this department has to have to brag, publicly, about kidnapping and caging otherwise entirely innocent people for possessing a plant is telling, to say the least. However, as the comments below the Facebook post illustrate, this mindset is changing.

Cannabis has been shown to kill cancer cells, save the lives of countless epileptic children, treat PTSD, heal bones, treat brain trauma, and a slew of other medical uses science is only beginning to understand. And yet, the only thing dangerous about this incredible plant is the fact that police will kidnap, cage, or kill you for possessing it.

In spite of medical cannabis being legal in some fashion in 28 states and recreationally legal in another eight states, the government still violently and with extreme prejudice continues to seek out those who dare possess it.

If the CDC calculated the number of deaths inflicted by police while enforcing marijuana laws, that number would certainly be shocking and could even be deemed a risk to public health. Marijuana is, indeed, dangerous, but only because of what can happen to you if the police catch you with it.

Nothing highlights the hypocrisy, immorality, and sheer lunacy of the drug war quite like marijuana prohibition, and the only ones who continue to enforce the immoral and tyrannical act of marijuana prohibition are those who profit from it — like the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

Gotta love the war on drugs.

I just thought that this was a funny article. It is worth clicking on the link to read some of the captured comments before they were removed.

Whoa ... dude ... all already packaged ... maybe two ounces ... but....

You waste my coin Sam, all you can
To jail my fellow man
For smoking all the noble weed
You need much more than him
You've been telling lies so long
Some believe they're true
So they close their eyes to things
You have no right to do
Just as soon as you are gone
Hope will start to climb
Please don't stay around too long
You're wasting precious time

Well it's evil, wicked, mean and nasty
(Don't step on the grass, Sam)
And it will ruin our fair country
(Don't be such an ass, Sam)
Well, it will hook your Sue and Johnny
(You're so full of bull, Sam)
All will pay that disagree with me
(Please give up you already lost the fight, alright?)

Yeah but those brave boys in blue are enforcing the laws and keeping the citizens safe from dangerous criminals that peddle these dangerous and addicting drugs like marijuana, that are just gateway drugs to even harder drugs.

Didn't you get the memo from the Reagan administration?

Now repeat above talking points over and over again until you have you mind right.

The real kicker is that the government is supplying the majority of the "dangerous" drugs feeding the hysteria to justify the war on drugs. At the same time funneling money out of the lower and middle classes to fund whateve nefarious shit they cannot get passed congress.
