Government Shut Down? It's Dem's Fault!

Remember this? October 2015? "We're going to do a wall; we're going to have a big, fat beautiful door on the wall; we're going to have people come in, but they're going to come in legally," Trump said at the third Republican debate, hosted by CNBC. "Mexico's going to pay for the wall," he said.

Let's see a show of hands. How many believed Mexico was going to pay for the wall?? Anyone? Anyone?

Well, NOT only are Americans going to pay for the wall, AG Sessions now says that IF THE GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN....there's only one reason. The Democrats. YEP. The Democrats.
Speaking on “Fox & Friends,” (where else?) the attorney general flatly said that Congress has the ability and mandate from the American people to build the wall.
“What we need to do is remind Congress and the American people that this president promised this, they voted for it in large numbers,” Sessions said. “It was one of the great strengths of his campaign.” (OR....one of the greatest LIES of his campaign.)
AND here comes the whip cream and cherry: “Let me tell you, it will be the Democrats who shut this government down to block the funding of the wall,” Sessions said. “Are they going to shut the government down? We’ll have a bill moving forward with some money in there for the wall, and it will be up to Congress to pass it.” “If the Democrats filibuster that, and block it, they’re the ones shutting the whole government down just to keep the wall from being built. No doubt about it.”

Some money, Jeff?? Some money?? Just HOW MUCH MONEY, Jeff?? Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, has said he expects the wall to cost between $12 billion and $15 billion. Fiscal responsibility, GOP? Really?
Teddy the Cruzer even weighed in. "DEMOCRATS WANT A SHUT DOWN." Wait. What? Didn't Cruz make headlines in 2013, when he led the fight to defund Obamacare, which ultimately resulted in a 16-day government shutdown.
The tune from Twilight Zone is running through my head.
So.....we've got the Party of Family Values AND Fiscal Responsibility in charge.
What could possibly go wrong??

Fellow Democrats, where is Rod Serling when we need him?

We all know what the Democrats in Congress will do and say. We all know that the Republicans in Congress will make small short term funding for small extensions. It says something about the resolve of the Democrats vs. the resolve of the Republicans in Congress. The wild card is Trump. What will he do? Frankly I hope he starts using the bully pulpit and not be afraid to hold up the lack of spine of the Republicans, to public scrutiny. Its time for the government to really shut down and not fake shut down like when the Democrats were in charge. We need a wall on the border and we need control of the border. We need to lose Obamacare and have it replaced with a responsible market based alternative. Republicans need to get their act together. if they do not I think a lot more "establishment" Republicans will lose their job.

Yup. They have no problem w/ ten hundred gazopatrillion on refugees that the majority of the states don't want, fifteen one two eight librabillions on healthcare that still costs the people another ten twenty progressodollars when they are forced to buy it but ten billion is where they draw the line. Why? Because walls are racist.

This just in...or at least I just saw it: Trump backs down on border wall funding.

AND LOOKY LOOKY who's back. It's little Kellyanne Conway. Has she been on vacation?

Donald Trump has indicated he will ditch plans to find cash for his border wall in this week's spending bill.
The president's close adviser, Kellyanne Conway, said funding for the wall would be left out of a budget measure that must pass by Friday.
Building the wall, paid for by Mexico, was a key campaign promise. Oops....better call Mexico, DJ, and make nicey nice to Enrique. Maybe he'll change his mind about paying for the YUGE WALL.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know the real, non polmeical, hyperbole free reasons why Trump wants Mexico to pay for the wall?

I believe that it was a talking point that some how got taken out of context then snowballed into insanity. I'm thinking that Mexico would have "paid for the wall" through tariffs not just cutting a check. Then again, that is to logical for any government official King trump or not.
