I was going to start a thread w/ this but it completely fits in here.

One of my associates (a minneapolis progressive)forwarded this to me and echos many of the sentiments that I have heard from people.

americas last election broke all the rules, its a mistake to consider what happened then, to be the new normal. the next election will most likely be more typical. trump, if he is the candidate, will no longer be the "outsider", he will be just another politician. and the democrat candidate will not have the baggage hillary had. it will be interesting to see who among the democrats seeks the nomination. are there any front runners so far?
Thanks from imaginethat

Hillary Clinton could have won that election going away if she had not fell into the Sanders trap of trying to appease the far left lunatics. Instead of bashing coal, and coal miners. She could have said were going to replace your lost coal jobs with clean energy and solar. I am going to see to it that we move mountains to place these jobs in coal country affected by change.

What I just typed would have won Hillary the office of President of the United States. Instead she said fuck you to coal miners, which as far as the rust belt was concerned was a fuck you to everyone who works for a living. Game over. The idiot left shot itself in the foot. Not only that. They still have not learned. Think about the GOP victories that were happening all the up to the election. Did the left learn? Nope, they just kept swinging harder and harder left. Warren will be destroyed. She is a communist and cant run from it now.

Like it or not the right is evolving and taking on a more libertarian approach whereas the left is moving backwards. This cultural Marxism crap is driving people away by the boatload and nobody who can do math should fall for the Bernie crap and would be destroyed in a debate but at least sanders was making an attempt to do something different.

What the democrats did last election is took the Clinton (bill) camp and shoved it in the blender w/ Obamas added a dash of Bernie sanders and called it something "new"

They are trying to use analog methods in the didgital age. If they don't step into the future and try and find a candidate to do it w/ they will continue to loose. And Hillary popping her ugly face up every two weeks crying is not helping things at all.

Sanders introduced the single payer medicare for all bill. Actually I favor medicare for all. But, being the usual Communist he has no way to pay for it other than the usual confiscate the wealth of someone else bullshit that does not even come close to covering the cost. He can not fathom cutting government costs elsewhere. Its not possible for a Communist to even imagine shrinking the size of government in no way.

The ONE thing that almost everyone likes about Bernie Sanders is that he never, EVER tap dances around an issue. He's blunt. He's honest. AND in this case (Medicare for All) he says it like it is when asked how America will pay for it: Raise taxes. Period.

One thing that has changed is the number of Democrats who now wholeheartedly BACK Sanders and his plan. That's how far we've come. We've also seen a change in Americans who, at one point not so long ago, ridiculed ACA. Now?? They want to keep it and they do not like anything proposed by the GOP who had 7 years to come up with a shiny new plan.

So I wouldn't be too surprised if Sanders plan--in the not too distant future--becomes law.
Medicare for All is in our future.

So you're saying she DOES care about the common man ??

Or did you mean to say she COULDN'T care less ???

Why don't you explain to us how a billionaire that has never done a days labor in his whole life can even begin to imagine the life of an average person ??

He was BORN rich. Went to ALL the right schools. He's one of those that started life on third base and thinks he hit a home run. He has NO CLUE what to do for or how to help the common man. He could START by paying his fucking bills rather than having hundreds of contractors and suppliers, you know "common men" have to SUE him to get paid.

The problem with Trump is not only does he think he's hit the home run, he'll tell you it's the greatest home run ever hit. Game 7 of the of the World Series, game tied, bottom of the ninth, bases load, 3 balls, 2 strikes and according to Trump he knocked it over the wall.

The man is out of touch with reality. He hasn't got a fucking clue about the average citizen.
Thanks from Clara007

Frankly it's foolish to believe either side or any of them "care" for the common man. They do not. They care only abut their agenda and that agenda is the one the money epople have given them.

And how many pieces of legislation have the Republicans offered up ?? The reason Obama created DACA is because congress wouldn't act. I seriously doubt they will this time either. At least he took nearly a million illegals and turn them into TAX PAYERS !!! More than I can say for the Republicans. And btw the last REPUBLICAN president wanted to give them AMNESTY !!!!! Just like you're great hero Ronnie Raygun did 30 years ago !!!

The corporate rules have so many loops hole that multi-billion dollar corporations don't pay taxes, or pay very little. Even then they are holding offshore money to avoid paying taxes on it. We don't need to cut taxes, we need to fix the corporate tax codes. In 1970 30% of federal taxes collected were from corps. Today that figure is just 10%. Corporations operating here benefit greatly from an educated population, a good infrastructure, low crime and stable governments. They need to re-invest in this county just like the rest of us do. And for the record YES I would support a drop in the top tax rates, if for no other reason than nevr again having to listen to rethuglicunts complain it. But I'd want it coupled to a deletion of most, if not all, targeted tax incentives, and the institution of a MINIMUM tax that like everyone else, has to be paid. WHY do corporations get away with paying nothing when you and I can't ?? I would also tie that minimum to job creation and sustainment.

If we didn't love it, we WOULD NOT CARE what the alt-reich bible kkkthumpers did to it. We'd let you create your Randian utopia if for no other reason than to watch it all fall apart. Just becasue I disagree with HOW to make the country better, doesn't mean I am any less passionate about making it a better place to live.

I don't know anyone that's PUSHING abortion. There are however a whole LOT of people out here that want the OPTION if and or when they feel it becomes necessary. In fact, the truth is, 75% to 85% of the people (depending on year) in this country DO NOT want abortion outlawed. They might not mind a few restrictions, but they DO NOT want it outlawed. Every poll take since Roe has shown that no matter how much of a pro-lifer they claim to be, when asked the ultimate question, should it be completely illegal, totally outlawed, they say NO !!! No one is PUSHING abortion, we're simply not taking it away.
