Did Trump Ignore U.S. Military Requests in Niger?

The Pentagon is investigating troubling questions about the death of four U.S. soldiers in Niger.

Donald Trump and his administration have spent the past sixteen days desperately trying to cover up a deadly U.S. military operation in Niger, to the point that Trump was hesitant to even call the families of the four U.S soldiers who died. As questions continue to be asked and details continue to emerge, Trump’s Niger scandal looks more ghastly by the day. Now comes a detail that helps frame why Trump may be so desperate to cover it all up.

Buried all the way down in the fourteenth paragraph of a Los Angeles Times report, you’ll find this bombshell of a sentence: “For months before the ambush, the U.S. military had requested more drones or other surveillance aircraft in Niger and additional military medical support, but those requests met resistance from the U.S. ambassador to the country, who was reluctant to increase the American presence in the country, according to a U.S. official briefed on the attack.” (link). In other words, the Trump administration knew U.S. troops were in danger in Niger, and did nothing.

Our soldiers had to be rescued by a French helicopter and the dead had to be retrieved by a privately contracted helicopter. I would like to here all the right wing AFRICOM Benghazi aficionados explain that one ?

I've been waiting for this. "Air cover" by the French who didn't have authority to fire on the rebels. Dead US soldiers airlifted out by a private contractor. Total absence of reliable intel. Sgt. Johnson separated from group and left behind temporarily. Trump's failure to inform US citizens of the ambush.

This is completely different, if Hilary was president, this would be Bengazi II.
Instead this is a case of decisive action taken by the president, averting a huge disaster.

At least that is what the president was told

Ah, this might be a better explanation than just general dotardness for the flash flood of tweets last night. Deflect, deflect distract.

its likely the white house knew nothing of this until these deaths. jesus, do you think the president is personally informed of the whereabouts and situation of every single individual deployed troop? this is a story about american imperialism, fighting dirty little wars in secret, about the worlds largest military engaged with guerrilla militia in the worlds poorest countries. it might be an important story, but remember its happened continuously under all of the last 5 presidents. its nothing to do with trump personally.

Typical FOX "news" story. It's an editorial. It's inflammatory going from one red meat "point" to the next. Hillary? Benghazi???
