Another One Bites the Dust

Don't ya love it when asked repeatedly "are you going to resign"? They say NO NO NEVER NEVER UhUhUh.....and then they do. Those precious moments just add credence to the cliche "politicians only lie when their lips are moving". Well, okay--maybe Rex is not resigning. The "MORON" as Trump so sweetly called him is being replaced so we may never know if Rex resigned or was pushed.

The president of the United States and the man he made secretary of state have been at odds almost since the beginning. Donald Trump and Rex Tillerson clashed over the Iran nuclear deal, nato, the Qatar crisis, and North Korea. Then there were reports that Tillerson called Trump a ďmoron,Ē prompting the president to challenge him to an IQ test. Taken individually, each disagreement could be dismissed. Taken together, they made Tillersonís position untenable.

The New York Times reported Thursday, citing senior administration officials, that the White House had developed a plan to force out Tillerson by the end of the year and replace him with Mike Pompeo, the CIA director. If the report, which said Trump hadnít yet signed off on the plan, is accurate, Tillerson would join the list of the secretaries of state with the shortest tenure (Elihu B. Washburne, President Ulysses Grantís top diplomat, resigned after 11 days; he was then named ambassador to France). Even if itís not accurate, it further undermines Tillersonís position as secretary of state, and further saps his credibility: What could be worse for Americaís top diplomat than a leaked plan to replace him at some indefinite point in the future?

AND our allies (and the press) get another WHOLE taste of STUPID from the Dotard administration.

Given Trump's reality show where he behaved as a complete tyrant in firing people, did anyone expect him to work with people?

He is the industrial role model of the worst possible owner/dictator and I am amazed that so many worker people voted for him. The US is obviously a nation that lost all memory of democratic principles and virtues, and what is left is a love of power, just is so in the all the countries we oppose.
Thanks from Hollywood and Clara007

Axios, BBC and CBC categorically state that he is being punted. Those are the only news sources I have accessed so far today.

Resigned? No way.

If trump fired him he would be gone today.

Thus when asked "did you fire Tillerson" he answered "He is here isn't he."

Yeah, Trump IS dumb enough to do that, but Tillerson is a smart guy. I don't think this thing is black and white.

Don't you think Tillerson has plenty of ammunition--IF he wanted to use it? A compromise? Negotiation?

We'll probably never know for sure.

WE can add two more to the WH exodus. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's expected exit from the Trump administration is one of many staff changes likely as President Donald Trump nears the end of his first year in office, with sources saying top economic adviser Gary Cohn and son-in-law Jared Kushner could be among those who depart.

Cohn, whose relationship with Trump became tense earlier this year, has considered leaving once the Republican effort to overhaul the U.S. tax system is completed in Congress, according to the sources with ties to the White House who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Kushner, who has seen his influence in the White House shrink, may receive a "face-saving" exit as he deals with legal challenges related to a special counsel's investigation of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign's potential ties to Russia, one of the sources said.

Axios is speculating that Deputy Chief of Staff Rick Dearborn is leaving too.
