Punch back twice as hard

I hear this phrase often and i get it. I am understanding now and I know why conservatives are fighting back and supporting Trump come what may. He fights their shared opponents. He mocks them. He uses the rules of his political opponents and turns them around against them. He creates the news instead of reacting to the news. He's punching back twice as hard for a part of the country that has long been ignored, not understood, mocked and ridiculed in media, academic and coastal elite circles. I've known this for awhile and wondered what would come of it. But i did'nt expect to get Trumped!

He is a hypocritical shit stain on this country who merely mirrors the other sides approved and widely acclaimed hypocritical shit stains. This is what we are stuck with now. It makes sense to me why my fellow conservatives stick by Trump. Do unto others as they do unto you. This is the only recourse were left with. What an unhealthy country we've become!

I think Trump, or some of his advisers anyway, picked up on something most politicians were ignoring...the American people. He also said many years ago that he didn't like the way this country was going. So what did he do? He listened and acted.
Any and all candidates would have been well advised to do the same. They didn't. Now everyone is shocked that a guy of Trump's caliber made it to the top while others, many of which are much more polished politicians, did not.
May be we should listen more and talk less? Instead of getting all hysteric about Trump, may be we should analyze why a man who is unpolished and gruff and blunt won the presidency.

Donald Trump was the only candidate that actually told the blue collar workers that he was going to do something for them. No more bullshit about "jobs Americans will not do". No more lets just give up on blue collar jobs. He looked at the core of the working men and women in the rust belt states and actually talked to them. That is more than any other Presidential candidate had done in a very long time.

On this board right now there is a contingent that demands higher minimum wage. At the same time they will tell you that we need illegal immigration to do the work Americans will not do (cheap labor). The Democrat party has failed the working men and women. They are paying the price now.

You've insulted blue collar workers by insinuating that they all support Trump.

True. The myth that Trump won because of low-income blue-collar MEN is bogus.
Most Trump voters were NOT working class--at least according to the polls.
*During the primaries, Trump supporters were mostly affluent people.
*Trump voters weren’t majority working class in the general election, either.

Not even worthy of a reply.

After looking over the article and your comments I have came to a conclusion. You and the Washington Post assume that all blue collar workers make shit wages. For years now its been noted that a technical education in trades is paying more than a career with a bachelors degree. Sounds like you and WAPO need to get out in to the real world some more. Of course assuming that all blue collar workers are white poor trash would align well with the bigotry from the Democrat party. Blue collar has to do with the type work you do, not the income from it.

Don't you know that if your nails are dirty and you dont spend the majority of your life in an office or a cubicle you are poor trash that needs the leftists to look out for your best interests as you are to stupid to do it yourself. Or you are racist.

Gosh, where have you been.
