This Is Not Okay

This morning's tweet:
Quote:
"The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?"
4:57 AM - Apr 15, 2018
"That is not normal," Comey said. "That is not OK. First of all, he's just making stuff up. But, most importantly, the president of the United States is calling for the imprisonment of a private citizen, as he's done for a whole lot of people who criticize him. That is not acceptable in this country."

Comey pointed to the tweets as examples of how he says Trump misunderstands or disrespects the rule of law.

"I hope people read the book and see why the rule of law is such an important value in this country, and key to that is that the president doesn't get to decide who goes to jail," Comey said of his new book, "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” which was released today.

“We’re numb to it,” he said. “We wake up in the morning and see the president of the United States is accusing people of crimes without evidence and pronouncing them guilty and saying they should be in jail. That should wake all of us up with a start, but there's been so much of it that we're a little bit numb and that's dangerous.”

...and I'm sure it doesn't dawn on him that this is one of the reasons he is accurately compared to a mob boss.

Well, the federal government is the largest, most powerful crime syndicate in the world.

Clearing the track?

From what I see, Trump has lost the Independent voters & certainly most of the Democratic voters over the last year. If present trends continue, the mid-terms are going to be brutal to the GOP - which will be understood as a judgment upon the Trump administration as well.

If you think the administration is hemorrhaging personnel now, wait until they all get to serve essentially a lame duck term for two years. The trend to retirements & decisions not to run will also accelerate in Congress on the GOP side, I believe. By the time of the midterms, the candidates for Congress could easily be newbie rookies v. people with @ least some experience in regional & state government. If that happens, then maybe we can break some of the policy logjams in Congress & get the train back on the tracks.

This isn't exactly on topic but worth mentioning but not worth its own thread so I'll put it here.

Pence chose Jon Lerner to be his National Security Advisor. When the Republican President heard this he had a Trumpertantrum. He considers Lerner to be a "never Trumper".

This came up while Pence was in South America at the Summit of the Americas I think it's called. He phoned the Republican President and made his case to the extent that he backed off.

But when Lerner learned of the situation, he chose to decline the position.

By all accounts a talented individual was driven away before he had a chance.

Comey's book made the best seller list. I should write a book and title it Adventures with Twisted Sister.
Thanks from Clara007

Sister, if you write I book I'll be the first one in line to buy and have you sign it.

You should DO IT! It sounds like you've had a very interesting life.

My writing skills are poor at best and need a ghost writer. My Aunt Karen is a best seller and could ask her but your pen is better than her pen. Be my ghost writer.
