I find "control freaks" an interesting choice of words, especially in this context.

If RvW is overturned there will probably be companies that spring up that offer essentially 'abortion tourism,' offering rides and hotel arrangements to states that have services available. Also there will be a lot of clinics put up right on the border of the states that forbid abortion.

Among the poor that can't take advantage of those services there will be more babies born damaged either physically or mentally because the mother was trying to get rid of the pregnancy.

I would expect it to go back to the states (as i believe laws like this should) and very little would change. Maybe a few states would change the laws infavor of stricter policies but none of this sky is falling back ally malarkey.

Plus wonderful breakfast supplements RU-486 would still be readily available.

My previous post on another thread:

If Roe v Wade is overturned tomorrow ABORTIONS will continue. Legal, illegal--moral or immoral. Men and women will STILL have unprotected sex--so will teenagers--just as they have since the beginning of time.
Women around the world have used abortion to control their reproduction at every point in history, and in every known society — regardless of its legality or immorality.

In the United States, abortion was widely practiced before about 1880, by which time most states had banned it except to save the life of the woman. Anti-abortion legislation was part of a backlash against the growing movements for suffrage and birth control — an effort to control women and confine them to a traditional childbearing role.

This legislation was also a way for the medical profession to tighten its control over women’s health care, as midwives who performed abortions were a threat to the male medical establishment.
If Roe v Wade is overturned wealthy women will be able to travel anywhere in the world to get a safe, legal abortion. Poor women will borrow a knitting needle or take a coat hanger out of the closet to perform their own abortion--and obviously they will probably die, as so many did before them. Some will get the money somewhere and go to a back alley abortionist. Some will swallow poison or douche with lye....but hey.

IF the pro-choice people are so confident that abortion is a right as guaranteed by the Constitution and BOR, why do they act as if Roe vs Wade is the Holy Grail and panic if it seems that conservatives may become dominant power in the SCOTUS? Is is because they know that legislating from the bench as they have been may just not be able to uphold once the SCOTUS actually concentrate on the Constitution instead of partisan politics as the liberal judges have been doing? Do pro-choice advocates have such little faith in the judicial system because that is what they do when they are in power?
What will happen is state legislatures will flip a lot faster than they already are. In case everyone has already forgotten the anti abortion religious conservative crowd is fast becoming a minority in this country. They also seem to be in denial over the fact that Congress is the ultimate check on the judiciary and can pass laws protecting reproductive rights no matter what a right wing activist court decides. Which by the way only would allow red states to restrict rights not make Roe illegal. Which would create a whole cottage industry that would insure that women in those states would either have transportation to or access to drugs that would allow them to get the abortion that is their right to do.

From the first time I head about this, separation of states, 4th grade or so, it bewildered me.

one country, 50 different set of laws.

Insane.

I did not understand it as effective governing as a 10 year old, I do not understand it as effective governing as a 60 year old.

And yeah, I understand it was done to get states to "sign up." Just like the ridiculous 2 senators from each state.

This existed before Roe. In Arkansas it cost 150 dollars to be flown to New York where you were met by a clinic rep, taken for the abortion and then returned to the airport to fly home.

Also, there is vastly more information readily available today than there was then. Everything from early pregnancy tests to the internet.

I would expect sites with detailed instructions regarding how to build a menstrual extractor to become very popular. Unfortunately there will be women/girls who do not sterilize and/or use them properly, so there will also be an increase in emergency treatment.

And you will probably start seeing menstrual extractors available on Ebay and Amazon.

You forget that 71% of the population want MORE RESTRICTIONS on abortion

~20% want a total ban, 50% want limits on abortion (Some combination of Rape incest life of the mother) only 29% support Abortion on demand
