White Guilt and President Obama

Barack Obama is a typical politician. He will distort. He will mislead about his real political views. He manipulates the media. He can be insincere. He lusts for power and therefore loves big government. He tries to quash critics.

But, there are some whites who simply won't accept anything bad about Obama. They believe that he is special and above criticism (sounds very much like how the leader is viewed in third world dictatorships). You can play soundbites of President Obama taking two conflicting positions on the same issue, yet there are some who continue to deny that there's anything wrong with the conflicting positions.

I can easily see why blacks would ignore President Obama's problems (or support him even when his views to correspond to theirs). They have an investment in the success of the first black President.

But why do so many whites do the same?

Religious fundies ignored George Bush's many faults. White guilters do the same for President Obama.

He's nothing new. He's a big government liberal who moved to the middle during the campaign and has now shifted to the far left. To me, he acts like I would expect to community organizer to act.

I don't want some far right President who doesn't believe in evolution. C'mon. I don't want a President who wants to create a giant nanny state where the government controls everything. I don't want ANY big government President.

Basically, I want the government to leave me alone.

Obama is not anywhere near governing from the far left. I cannot understand how people think that he is. And I have a problem with you saying that people are agreeing with him out of white guilt. I wonder why you label it that way. S democrat isn't going to go against most of what he stands for, and tht doesn not make it white guilt, it makes it the democratic party. Democrats have an investment in his success.

I call it white guilt because so many white Obama supporters will not concede anything bad about President Obama.

When I posted the "pledge to Obama" video, you immediately said that you thought it was actually an anti-Obama video." Why? I simply do not understand why any criticism of Obama immediately generates a denial.

There is undeniably a group of whites that will not ever criticize President Obama for anything, and I think that is very weird.

i did that because I had just seen an ad on the tv that showed kids pledging as if it were the POA and it had new words put in it. I wrongly assumed that you were talking about that. But he has only been the president for a little over 6 months and is undeserving of all of this bs outrage over things that wouldn't have turned the heads of Bush supporters if he were the one doing it.

I don't disagree with the part about George Bush. I thought the religious fundamentalist's blind love for Bush was every bit as creepy as Hollywood celebrities pledging to be President Obama's servant. I

I try not to be a "my team, your team" type of person (and I don't like Obama or Bush). There is no "our team" any more in politics.

Examples:

Democrats: Big Corporations BAD Big Government GREAT

Repubs: Big Corporations GOOD Big Government GOOD

Think Enron, Nazi Germany, and Soviet Russia.

Democrats: Personal Welfare GOOD Corporate Welfare BAD

Repubs: Personal Welfare BAD Corporate Welfare GOOD

And both parties love the pork, which means that constituencies get their government dollars. Both parties dole out money to their supporters. We'll bitch about some woman with two kids and a minimum wage job getting food stamps but not about the farmer who gets $500k or more in farm subsidies to NOT GROW ANYTHING.

Hilarious

Seriously though, I don't have white guilt. I have nothing to feel guilty about.

Certainly it wasn't because you liked him better than the other guy running.

We all know you only voted for Barack Obama as a part of your atonement for owning slaves on your farm.

Well, I do live in the Garden state, and my Sewdish ancestors were farmers in Sweden, so...

But my grandpa did disown my mother for marrying a black guy. He was a mental midget though, with a history of supporting the Nazi ideology. I didn't even know him, so I don't feel guilty about how moronic he was.

AHA!

I knew it! You do have white guilt!

You voted for Obama because you felt so much guilt over your grandfather's Nazi leanings! He hated race-mixing, so therefore you felt you were obligated to voted for the mixed-race candidate!

It's all making sense I tells ya!
