Jeff Sessions Upcoming War On Legal Marijuana

Without any protection from Congress, every marijuana grower and dispensary owner who came out of the shadows to become a taxpaying member of the legal recreational cannabis industry in Colorado, Oregon, Washington state and Alaska has exposed himself to potential criminal prosecution by a DOJ run by Sessions. A list of potential defendants would number in the hundreds (The National Cannabis Industry Association, a trade group, boasts more than 1,000 dues-paying members).

The higher the profile of these cannabis businesspeople, the more at risk to federal prosecution—like when the Justice Department under George W. Bush went after Tommy Chong of "Cheech & Chong" fame for selling glass pipes across state lines. But beyond going after those engaged in legal recreational weed, what could Attorney General Sessions actually do to reverse the progress of legalizing marijuana?

Sessions won’t say, but Smart Approaches to Marijuana, an anti-marijuana group that spent about $2 million last year fighting legalization, has a wish list.

Actually, I have been amazed since the first state legalized medical pot was put in place that the fed law vs state law conundrum hasn't hit the SC.

If Sessions does take this step it would become a sure bet.

If Sessions does, the step he will be taking is assuring Trump is a one term President, and Democrats retake control of Congress.

The 18th Amendment is proof enough that it is a state matter.

The 'war on drugs' is a misbegotten federal intrusion, which has met with SCOTUS approval I might add.

Not really, though we like to see you making more of your famous predictions.

The first paragraph in that article was one of my predictions in the 80's.

Quote:
On Election Day, eight states voted to legalize recreational or medical marijuana, bringing the nationwide total of medical states to 29. In Florida, medical marijuana won nearly 2 million more votes than Donald Trump. Added up, 65 million people now live in states that authorize adult recreational use; more than half of all Americans have access to medical marijuana; and almost everyone else lives in a state that permits CBD, a non-psychoactive component of cannabis that helps treatment of juvenile epilepsy. It’s easier now to identify the six states that have done nothing to end the prohibition on marijuana than the ones that are breaking away from the federal law that treats marijuana the same as heroin.
That's what's known as a total repudiation of Ronald Reagan, and Jeff Sessions.

I predict I will be right again.

Skews talking about a prediction that he may have made in the 1980's with zero evidence. We do, however, have a litany of actual skews predictions on DTT from the past few years.

God knows what Reagan has to do with a state voting for legalized marijuana; the feds have been at war with drugs since the 1900's.

I follow this shit pretty closely and he has said nothing of the sort and Rosenberg s move to make CBD schedule 1 earlier this month furthers this theory. They are very likely to leave it as is for now. In the hands of the states. If it wasn't for the enormous ties that the DEA and FDA has to big pharma and therefor lobbyists I would say that we could have a chance of getting rid of it (pot laws) all together. What surprised me most during the election was that Clintons background w/ the legalization of weed never came up. She was dead set against it for years and w/ her husband (Bill) and Obama as known pot smokers why is the law even still in place. Makes you wonder.

To leftists things like states rights and the constitution are easily changed w/ the temp. of the times. The constitution is a living breathing thing, it just so happens to also be a hypocrite.
