This is not your country if Trump is not your President?

One of DTT's illustrious members has this as a signature, so I was wondering....

Does this apply? This was not your country if Obama was not your President.
Thanks from Hollywood

Yup.

He was the POTUS. It is a very simple thought experiment.

I wonder what cancon's and webguy's take on this was at the time. I seem to remember it not being that way. Among others.

IT, don't you remember that Amendment to the Constitution?? OR was that a postscript to the Bill of Rights??

Well, anyway, it starts something like "Hey, you intolerant asshats! Give Trump a chance or we'll send you back to ____________." Fill in the blank.

I'm assuming that since I'm mostly German ancestry I'll be in Berlin quite soon. I hear it's a lovely city. Where will you end up?? LOL

That signature is correct.

Hate Trump all you want. Disagree with him all you want.

But claiming he is not 'your' President is a lame childish feet stomping spinach hating moment worthy of a genuine snowflake.

By our country's laws, he was duly elected. All the whines about Russians, hacking, popular vote, etc, is nothing more than denial of reality. Gore won the popular election and conceded to Bush. Hillary won the popular vote and conceded to Trump. You may not agree with our election process, but by refusing to acknowledge and respect the position, you are not being respectful to the country and your countrymen.

There is no issue with not respecting Trump as a person. There is an issue with not respecting the Office of the Presidency. Disagreeing with his policies/actions by voting him out of office is what adults do. Claiming he is not your President just makes one sound like a 5 year old child on a tantrum.

To paraphrase, Trump is an asshole, but he is our asshole. You're stuck with him until pending the results of the next election. To claim Trump is not 'your' President makes one sound delusional and about just as eloquent as the the the guy you're calling a buffoon.
Thanks from guy39 and Sabcat

Whatever happened to the words "gentleman"?? Intelligent? Presidential?
Inspiring? Consistent? Decent? Dignified? Statesman? Respectful??

Will we ever have a president who fits those descriptions again??

Do you know what Trump said to the people of Puerto Rico today--after he through paper towels at the crowd?? Something like "GOOD JOB on only having 16 dead people!" "What is your death count as of this moment? 17? 16 people certified, 16 people versus in the thousands."

Then this: The president also seemed to fault the small island for imperiling the United States's budget by requiring hurricane relief funds, saying, "I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you've thrown our budget a little out of whack."
Really??

WHO SAYS THAT??
Thanks from imaginethat

Our president.

I had to see it with my own eyes, Trump tossing rolls of paper towels.

"Qu'ils mangent de la brioche."
