All of this is just jockeying for position for the 2020 race.

As I dug into the whole Clinton DNC thing what I found was the DNC had had a coupe of bad years on the fundraising front. They were short on cash and carrying some debt. Clinton came in and gave them a cash infusion..IN exchange for the cash Clinton was able to force an agreement giving her almost total control over how it was spent. Not sure there's anything illegal about it, but it still stinks to high heaven.

Every time Brazile opens her mouth and pushes her book, every time she exposes the internal machinations of Clinton and the leadership running up to the election, it can only help the DNC. We can only hope others will follow her lead and help clean up the party.

Of course option B is the moderate Dems join with the moderate Repubs and form a viable third party. There are A LOT of people in this country who, like myself, have never actually fit in either party. I've never been what you'd call radically liberal. Voted republican most of my life. But the Republicans got in bed with the evangelicals and have been steadily marching, I'd say goose stepping, to the right. As the RNC moves more to the right, some one, some where, is going to fill that void. Either the DNC shifts and takes over more of the middle ground, or a we get a new party that sits between the extremes on each end of the political spectrum.

We might, just might, be on the verge of a serious paradigm shift. We could be watching history unfold.
I sure hope so. The Republicans in the Senate are as corrupt as democrats.

There used to be four political groupings, Moderate Republicans, Conservative Republicans, Liberal Democrats and Conservative Democrats, they would shift alliances back and forth to get things done.
Now we have two groups, that balance on a razors edge, this way and that way, and all the things that slow the process down are being stripped away to take advantage of the momentary grasp on power that the GOP currently holds.
In 2020 it could easily be the Democrats with all the power, and only a very weakened filibuster to hold them back.
Certainly no "Traditions of the Senate" that the GOP could use as they did in the past.
But this back and forth is the perfection of party politics, two relatively even powers, struggling for the momentary advantage.
Given the amount of money being poured into the process, I don't see it changing soon, and if it does change dramatically, we'll get someone who looks a lot more like Huge Chavez than Thomas Jefferson....
