A Record Number of Women Have Filed to Run for U.S. House Seats, Most of Them as Democrats

Hannah Gold
Today 12:40am

No doubt encouraged by our heinous, misogynist leadership, a record-breaking number of women have filed candidacy papers to run for United States House of Representatives seats in the upcoming midterm elections.

The Associated Press reported on Thursday that 309 women across the United States have filed to run, beating out the previous record of 298, which was set during the 2012 election. And, more good news: so far Democratic women candidates running in the 2018 election cycle outnumber Republican women candidates 3-to-1, which is the highest ratio recorded in a congressional election year dating back to 1992, according to Mother Jones.

Times are a changing with regards to racial demographics, age demographics and gender demographics. The right wing’s “15 minutes” are just about up.

In full measure

Good! Maybe we can start looking @ US health care, education, agriculture, family issues, environmental quality, environmental contamination, clean air & water, tax policy, industrial policy, science/technology, military/foreign relations policy, banking/insurance/finance - it's a long list - with more concern for impacts to ordinary people. & start looking @ a longer term than next quarter's financials - one of the deadly sins of a purely corporate outlook.

We also need to include externalities (like clean air & water, for instance) in P&L calculations.

Good for them! The bipartisan era is coming ba... Nevermind.

I see no change in how we're governed. Be nice to be wrong, but i doubt it.

Ok, so if you want to vote for a woman for the US House seat, and for your ballot there is a woman you can vote for & the woman is the Republican candidate but the Democrat candidate is a man, then you're going to vote for the woman - right?
Thanks from Sabcat

Why?

Is there a difference between men and women?
