What did your parents teach you about "TDS"?

Cutting to the chase....

The brick wall I hit as I tried to keep an open mind regarding Trump the person: My parents taught me to avoid people like him, and for sure not to practice the morals and values he displays.

By the time I graduated from high school, I understood their advice. As I grew older, meeting such individuals, the wisdom of their advice became apparent.

My Mom and Dad created the "root" of my "TDS." Thus, when I'm accused of TDS, accusations are likewise laid at the feet of my dear, departed Mom and Dad.

Am I alone? Did anyone's parents teach you differently? Did they or he or she place hope in your maturing into a person holding the values displayed by Donald Trump?

To be fair, or a person like Bill Clinton?

@Imaginethat

What is "TDS"?

Now, I certainly understand the point you are making--though I would point out, leaders teach by example, and many parents do not set a good example, regardless of sweet sounding words they may say. Talking kindness, strength, intelligence, loyalty, integrity, etc. is easy and hence is performed by many, acting it out (consistently) is another matter entirely.

I used to think we were all raised that way, IT. I certainly raised my children to be respectful, kind to others--and it wasn't just "words"--it was role modeling.

My parents taught me to look at people's accomplishments not hate them for who they are.

Obama worst Economy since the Great Depression

Trump Brought back real economic Growth

Obama extended a Recession by 7 years

Trump Brought back excellent economic Growth

Obama created a 28/hour work week and sold it as the new normal

Trump Brought back the 40 hour work week

Obama expanded the Welfare Roles (because of the 28 hour work week normality)

Trump has caused the welfare rolls to decline because part time jobs were upsized to full time.

Well, I'm all for looking at people's accomplishments, but let's be realistic while we're at it. People's accomplishments SHOULD include some sort of decency, don't you think? Or do we just base our admiration on "accomplishments"?

Do you esteem people like Ted Bundy? He had lots of accomplishments. How about Jack the Ripper? Jeffrey Dahmer? Bonnie and Clyde? Al Capone? Adolph Hitler?
LOTS of accomplishments for all these folks. Right?

~50% OF THE JOBS created uncer Obama's economic plan were part time jobs (28 hours/week) Why was that?

https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article...-now-full-time

https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...void-obamacare

And if you were full time the employer was subject to taxes and possible fines. That could be avoided so a large portion of the job creation was 28 hours/week.

The argument is that Obama's "JOBS" were all part-time jobs and THEY don't count. LOL
