Its not just Berkeley. I pointed this out here before, and how others fought me on this being a big national problem. sigh...

I'm one of the resident big-bad liberals here, and couldn't agree more. The Constitution protects us from threats, not from people who say things that make us irritable. Nobody loathes Ann Coulter (or that horrible Milo character) more than I, but they absolutely have every right to speak on Berkeley campus without all this bullshit. Ann Coulter talking racist/Islamaphobic/homophobic/anti-liberal venom is NOT the same thing as the Viet Nam War - so put down the garbage cans, stop throwing shit and go to the library.

Ugh... You big bad liberal scum

Aside from the more obvious... Your an American first. Your politics is what you believe, your lifestyle is your choice alone... None of which doesn't define you as such in my eyes. Your a human and my fellow countrymen.

Ignoring all the vitriol and divisions we've been forcing upon ourselves because of differences in what we think is right, the sum of all reasoning is that we all want the same things. No buts or comparisons allowed.
Thanks from tristanrobin

Yet the people at Berkeley probably have their own law to follow as they see it. So they would tell the conservatives like Coulter and Milo that they have no right to be on their campus.

Yet it would be okay for the liberals like Clinton, our own Governor Jerry Brown to speak there.

I strongly feel that especially a university should be an arena where all viewpoints should be heard.

Disagree vocally all you want. Don't go if you want. But as long as nothing criminal is being advocated, the 1st protects them too, "them" being members of both sides.
Thanks from tristanrobin, Panther and Sabcat

Thanks, IT. I know it has been months since I was last on DTT.

Seems like this board has not changed much. But overall, I hope all of you are doing good. 😀

Not long before the election there was an anti-Trump rally in the Student Union on Ohio State University campus which only students could attend and sanctioned by OSU. I saw the video on local TV and the speaker was using a bullhorn lambasting Trump from the balcony. The guy got tackled from behind and down the stairs he went suffering injuries. The attacker was pro-Trump whom got quickly arrested by campus police. There has been no follow up so can't say what happened next. College kids are mere babes in the woods and get into this kind of trouble. Sad
